Yep, the Southwestern vs. Trinity game will be the deciding factor for playoff implications for LSA Div. B.

Evidently, Trinity has a lot of riding on both games (Southwestern and St. Edwards) this weekend, so the eyes of Texas are on Trinity.

Seeing as it is a conference game with possible playoff seeding implications (for UT) I do not see why the Horns would not start their A Squad. I am sure Baylor would love to upset the Longhorns in Austin, and UT can't play lazy against Baylor.

What is the deal with Texas having an A and B squad. Is this like a home team and a smaller traveling team. Or a JV and Varsity type set-up?

The location for the Baylor vs. UT game will be at Canyon Vista Middle School, and the game time is 3pm. UT's President Eric can give directions if anybody needs them.

I take that as either pulling our leg due to some talk about UT using either A or B team or moving the game time from 7 pm to 3 pm. If moving the game time is the case, what happened to the 7 pm slot?

Brent,
Noah and I talked a while ago and UT wouldn't let us play the night game as we originally intended to. We decided to move the game time to 3pm. This was back in January and we sent an e-mail out to Gene Brown, I guess I should of followed up with Karl and you. Sorry about that. As far as the location goes, Eric e-mailed me yesterday saying we would play there. I didn't ask why because I just took it as they couldn't use their fields for some reason. (I really didn't think that was any of my business, as long as we get to play our game) Eric said we would have music, and a live announcer there at the game. It is a good way to develop and showcase LSA lacrosse around the Round Rock schools. I know Westwood HS plays at Canyon Vista Middle School, and one of their rivals, McNeil HS is just down the road from CVMS. But to answer any questions, the time and location are 3pm at Canyon Vista Middle School.

And just as my opinion, I think it is great that UT has enough players to have an A and B team. Im sure it really helps develop younger players with the college game. We at Baylor only having 15 players on our roster don't have that luxury yet...

benji, couldn't help this but noted that you wrote PM before North Texas. I had it highlighted in bold for emphasis. I know it does not stand for Prime Minister or Prime Meridian. I was not sure if the State of Texas Legislature had voted in a new name additon to the University of North Texas. Oh, wait, next year, the Legislature will vote on the biennium budget, etc.

I guess you must have been thinking of the game times when you were about to type 1:00 PM, hmmm.

What has it come to when a guy can no longer live in a world where typographical errors are no longer dismissed, and instead, are highlighted for the purpose of ridicule?

I wanna go back to kindergarten; finger paint rocks. I always got good grades on the finger paint days.

This is why......

March 16, 2006
The Westwood High Lacrosse program is excited to announce that we will again be partnering with the University of Texas Lacrosse team to offer a youth developmental clinic on Saturday, March 25th followed by the University of Texas/Baylor Lacrosse game.
Check in will start at 9:00 am and the clinic will begin promptly at 9:30. Parents are expected to pick up their boys at 2:30, but are invited to come and stay with their sons to attend the University of Texas vs. Baylor University Lacrosse game starting at 3:00pm (FREE!).
All events will be held at the Canyon Vista Middle School on Spicewood Springs Road. The college game will have an announcer for those who want to learn about the game, and the student clinic attendees will be eligible to participate in half-time events and giveaways sponsored by South Swell Sports.
This clinic will be exciting and worthwhile for all new and experienced lacrosse players from 2nd through 8th grade. Eight or nine coaches representing the University of Texas, Westwood High Varsity and Junior Varsity lacrosse teams will be supervising skill instruction, drills and scrimmages.
ALL PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN STICK, FULL SET OF PADS, HELMET AND MOUTHPIECE. After warmups and introductory drills, all clinic attendees will be placed in small "age and skills" teams and paired with groups of UT and Westwood players. As a result, this clinic boasts the best instructor-to-student ratio that players will ever receive at a lacrosse clinic. Lunch will be provided, and all attendees will receive event t-shirts and have the opportunity to get them autographed by their favorite UT and/or Westwood players and coaches.
If you have any additional questions about this clinic you can call Westwood Lacrosse Club Board members Betsy Horton (331-1292) or Sylvia Ierullo (257-8493) or email Michael Anderson at manderson29@austin.rr.com, or go to www.WestwoodLax.Org . The clinic fee is $50 for all who register by March 22. Early registration is encouraged, but you may register on the day of the event for $10 more.
Register using the forms Linked below. In addition, parents will need to turn in a WW/UT Clinic Waiver (also linked below) by the day of the event.
