Why are we using Arbiter? Why dont we just use the SELC site (or USLMDIA.com) like we have in the past? I just seems that its ONE more thing that we have to check and recheck before we can play.

I believe the reason is that there is then one central resource for officials, and with officials from different areas sometimes moving around, schedulers can see their availablity in one place, rather than having to check different conference sites. Arbiter works very well on the refs' side.
