Cal Poly is as advertised...quick and aggressive. At the neutral site in Seattle the fans were great for both sides. Utah came out with the first goal. Poly tied it up and went ahead. Then Utah came back. It was back and forth until Utah pulled ahead 8-5 in the third. Poly came back with well designed plays to take advantage of Utah's aggressive adjacent D and tied it up with a few minutes left in the game. OVERTIME. After a few panicky possesions for both teams Utah's 34 year old freshman Rich Levi took it straght down the middle and bounced it top shelf to win it. Props to Cal Poly for a sweet night of lax.

Snow is supposed to dump on the front range this weekend (Sunday - Monday are both 70% chance of snow). We'll see what this does to Missouri's road trip to Colorado. They should be able to play tomorrow's game no problem against CU, but things aren't looking great for Sunday's game against Wyoming and Monday's vs. CSU.

is anyone else out there shocked by byu only loosing to wesleyan by 1??? they are the 8th ranked team in d3, and should have beaten byu handily. byu lost to whititer by 10, so i was expecting a similar result.

i congratulate byu on their outstanding effort, losing to a top ranked d3 team by only 1 says something about the league and their team.

i am curious as to what is the case....is byu that much better than when the played whittier? Is wesleyan overrated, or whittier underrated? or did wesleyan view this as a scrimmage and not play any of their starters. (I noticed this game was not even on wesleyans schedule, so that is a possibility)

Congrats to Utah and Coach Goodhand. I don't think they can compete with CSU yet, but I think they might give BYU a run for their money.

Before you jump to too many conclusions, you should read this post that was on the laxpower forum:

Wesleyan played all 42 players including 4 goalies. BYU keep their starters in the whole game. #7 their best player scored the last goal. It doesn't seem like a very smart move with such a big game against FSU tomorrow. BYU was very desperate to show they can play with the big boys. Wesleyan just wanted to get every body some time. It will be interesting to see the score of the BYU/FSU game.

Reported in the Live Action forum that BYU beat FSU 11-8. Good win for BYU. This win should help right their ship and punch their ticket to Plano, barring any unforseen disasters.
