Postby Dan Wishengrad on Mon Mar 13, 2006 3:57 pm

After a week off due to lack of ideas, the Weekly Poll is back! This week's question is courtesy of Jason Stockton. Got a good suggestion from Tim Hart also I will be using later in the season. Please keep those suggestions coming!!!

Not sure who it will be yet, but I would like to hope that one other team can battle into the "invite only" spots and get to Dallas besides just the two AQ.

Why don't you see more than one division b team going to the playoffs? we'll probably see Montana go to the playoffs, but there might be another team from this division to make it.

If the season ended today. . .and Oregon and Montana held on and won the PNCLL tourney A.Q.'s, they'd be making the trip to Texas without any other PNCLL teams. . .

With all of the upsets in the PNCLL, it seems really unlikely that teams like SFU, PLU and WWU. . .the highest ranking "other" teams. . .have enough big games on the schedule that they can shake up the polls and move up at this point.

If OSU, SFU, PLU, WWU. . .or any other team wants to go to Nationals they are going to have to win the tourney at the end. PLU started out ranked in the top-10, but with 3 losses to WCLL teams and then the huge loss to SOU, they have little chance to go as an at-large. They'll have to win it all in late April. WWU had a shot until they fell to PLU. . .the whole thing is really a mess.

I hope we get more than two teams to Texas. . .but I think we'll need an upset in late April for that to happen at this point. . .

Will something change if Montana doesn't beat uvsc or doesn't beat another pncll team?

PLU has a shot to move up in the polls if Montana destroys UVSC, & PLU wins out big. WWU can also move up if they beat Montana, and Montana destroys UVSC. It would have to be a big win to legitimize the tight games Montana played. Unfortuteately, PLU's disappointing trip to Irvine will be in the poll voters minds... The PNCLL was 0-3 on that trip, and despite their improvement, it has to be done on the field.

The B will most likely send the AQ, with WWU the long shot after that (assuming Montana wins it, PLU played them tough).
