A lot of this could be wrong as I got it off the USLMDIA site and I noticed some things that could be wrong, mainly the Big XII Tournament schedule.

just incase everyone has not heard the saturday game with western illinois and truman state, also the truman state and nebraska-omaha games have been canceled. because truman state once again dropped out of the GRLC, and making nothing but problems in not only our schedule's but our divisions. this is the second team to drop out of the north division. just as a small opinion i believe from now on that teams are going to have to go through more of a screening process before we let them enter the GRLC. every year so far some how there have been some teams western is suppose to play that drop out or are no shows (truman state, monmouth, rhodes, northwestern) there just needs to be something done about this whole situation. still looking forward to playing SLU this weekend.

This type of situation could change now that you have a new GRLC comissioner. One of your former commisioner's primary goals was to add as many teams to the MDIA as possible - sometimes regardless of their preparedness.

I thought the system worked where delegates from a team wanting to join the conference give a speech about the state of their team and why they should be allowed in, and each current team's representative has a vote in whether to allow them or not. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just the Commissioner's vote, but I will admit that some of the coaches that have been around longer have more of an influence than others. I haven't been around one of these meetings since about 2001 though, so maybe the process has changed.

Maybe the "evaluation process" should be a little more involved then a couple of young college kids giving a quick 5-minute speech at the Fall conference meeting.
Food for thought.

Sonny, I agree 100%. There is more to it than just a presentation, including an interview type process, but it still seems to be somewhat flawed, but a lot of well run teams have been admitted this way, too. I was just stating that it is a democratic process of voting, and not one dictator making all of the decisions.
As far as games go this weekend, I hope Mizzou and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Kansas will come back from Texas undefeated. Kansas is a very intriguing team this year, and we all know Mizzou had ample time to work on their offensive sets this past weekend.

How do you figure on unranked Dordt beating (i think) 8th ranked St. Thomas at the tommies' own field?

Many people making the predictions don't have any background information to base their predictions on. I'll be the first to admit, when I looked at that game I figured Dordt to win, but that is only based of the fact that I know nothing about St. Thomas and I know that Dordt has had success in the GRLC the past few years.

We played St. Thomas last year, and believe me they're pretty good. We've also been playing Dordt at least twice a year since 2000, so I know how good they can be as well. These two teams had a really good game last year at Dordt's field with St. Thomas narrowly winning, so I'm expecting a close game from them again.

Ya think? If this is true, then let's all wait for the official announcement.

Western Illinois and SLU will play at noon on Sunday at Harris Stowe College, NOT AB Conference Center.
Harris Stowe is located on Compton two blocks south of Olive Blvd. It is essentially SLU's "home" field as it borders the east side of SLU's campus.

why do people make preictions if they arent gonna research... seems a little bit pointless to me... kinda like lets see who can guess how many jelly beans are in the jar... thats the biggest reason i dont post predictions... until i get full television coverage or at least highlights of every game(like college basketball) so as i can be a bit educated ill let the teams do the playing on the field...

Vetting idea
The GRLC's female counterpart had two teams voted into the league this past fall, and one of them dropped out before even getting to the end of the fall semester (the other, Creighton, has played more games this spring than anybody else except for Lindenwood, well done Creighton!). We were (and still are) new to the vetting process, but I think we do have an interesting concept coming up this fall. We're having a fall league tournament in conjunction with the league meeting. Any team looking to join would be well-served by fielding a team in the tournament, so that all the current members of the league board can see that they have enough players (as we know, "18 at every practice" is a lot different than even 12 at an away game), uniforms, organization, etc. to be able to hit the road and actually play games. Too soon to know if it will work, but we'll definitely have plenty of reasons to be skeptical if the best a team can do is to send two reps to a presentation.
