Who's going to take the SELC this year?

I know that there have only been a few games played this year and not too many league games, but who do you expect to end up with the SELC Championship this year?

Seems that to some people's suprise Auburn has reloaded. What about FSU and UF?

Just some thoughts, but who do you think is the front runner?

FSU-GT game this weekend should be pretty big. VT plays Clemson, so we'll get to see a little of how VT is going to fare. I think the top 3 are going to be FSU, VT, and GT in no particular order, with UF, Auburn and UGA coming up next, again in no particular order. The Auburn-UF game on Friday will be a good one as well to help determine some standings.

It's always a guessing game until finals, anyway. FSU has been the odds on favorite going into finals the last two years, and has come up short both times. Will this be the year they get over that hump?

Nobody really knows anything about VT (except VT) until they've played a few games, and they start as late as some of the RMLC or PCLL teams due to weather.

This weekend looks to showcase some great matchups at GA Tech. The 'Noles have perfomed well historically at GA Tech in February, sweeping the ACC Shootout each of the last four years, but playing the dangerous game of comparing scores against common opponents swings the advantage to Tech, who both scored more against UGA and allowed fewer goals than did FSU (UGA 2-GT 20 / UGA 5-FSU 14). As usual, the FSU defense needs a big weekend to continue the'Noles' early season success. Anchored by Senior goalie Jeff Goren and Senior Defenseman Nate McFadden, FSU's defense has looked markedly better thus far. If they can continue to gel as a unit, and minimize mistakes, we might see the Seminoles going deep into Nationals again. Should be a fun weekend...Wish I could be there to see it.

The nice thing about this year so far is the seemingly greater parity across the rest of the SELC with an improved Auburn, Vandy, and especially Wake Forest. Conference races leading up to finals should be pretty sweet!

Good luck to all this year.

Only one problem with your analysis...

We have not played UGA this season.. we beat USC 20-2.

Florida State has the money and power and a lot of talent like the
New York Yankees in Baseball but Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are going to be on Florida State's heel all season

I like both Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech but if I got to pick one I'm going with the Virginia Tech to win the SELC. Also it would be great if all three of these programs make it to Dallas and beat some of those teams from the WCLL. The SELC's time has come to make a dent at the IA National Championships and all three of these programs have the resources and talent to win big in Dallas and represent the SELC with pride.

I'd pick FSU. After watching VT, i was really impressed, but I don't think they can over come GT and FSU. Best of luck to everyone this year, see you in the tournament

Of the few teams I've seen play, the nod has to got to FSU on athletic skill alone (these kids are athletes). My guess is FSU, Gtech, Vatech, UF, UGA, UT make it. Not going out on much of a limb here, I know.

I'm anxious to see how vatech reloads after the significant graduations of last season.
