PNCLL 2006 Weekly Poll Question (Week #3 2/15-2/21)

In 2005, ten teams made the post-season tournament from the A (#1 UO; #2 UW; #3 SFU; #4 GU) and B (#1 UM; #2 LC; #3 PLU; #4 WC; #5 UPS; #6 WOU) Divisions.

So which team that did NOT make the playoffs a year ago is most likely to crash the party in 2006? Feel free to post a reply explaining WHY you think your team will be a playoff team this time around...

Dan, I definitely think Western Washington is the easy pick here. . .WWU lost 4 very close games to UPS and PLU last year - and were in a very stacked North division. I think they were one of the top teams in the B division last year, and with their new goalie I keep hearing about, I'd be shocked if WWU wasn't in the playoff mix come April.

I actually chose BSU in your poll. Having seen the Broncos play last year, I definitely think they have an excellent chance to finish in the top 4 of the PNCLL this year. We all know how good Oregon is, and SFU will be in the playoffs as well. . .and that leaves OSU, UW, BSU, GU and Idaho to fight for the last two playoff spots. I think when the dust settles, BSU will get one of those last two spots.

I also see WWU as the easy choice. They were absolutely hosed in the poll voting last season, and will hopefully get their credit this year. From seeing them in the Fall, I would give them a top 10 placement as of now, but I guess time will tell. They're building a strong team for future years to come as well.

I see WWU as an obvious pick as well. After playing them this last weekend they have talent as well as an offense that should carry them far this season. Keep it up WWU!

I have to say, I think Western Washington's defense is where they're strongest. With Baumstark smashing heads and Symington stopping everything.

Ahhh...Noah, my pride and joy. This kid came to us the Fall of my senior year. We went undefeated during Fall Ball with this kid in cage (he was a sophomore--in high school!-- then). Also, he has been the only goalie I have seen (live), to make a save, run all the way down the field and put it stick side high--that was during the inaugural year of Gonzaga Prep High School. The kid is nutso.
