I figure since the game report sent into USLMDIA.org is not yet posted anywhere that I could find, that I'd post our first one here.
Calvin 3 1 3 0, 7
WI-Ear Claire 1 1 0 2, 4
Played at Northern Michigan's Superior Dome on Fri, 2/3 at 8:30pm
In Calvin's first return to full-field play since November our play was not as refined as one should come to expect in the future. That said, WI-Eau Claire's play was totally classy and their players a pleasure to compete against. Calvin took a ton of shots on cage (towards goal) 47, yet our accuracy left room for improvement. #19 Jimmy Deterding performed well in his move back to primarily attack play, finishing with a 4 goals and 1 assist. At midfield #25 Nick Good made a nice contribution, after his return from overseas earlier this week, tossing in 3 goals including a fluke that even he didn't want to take credit for. The Calvin defense and clears were a bright spot with great pressure being applied and above average success moving the ball up the field. All 36 players in attendance (of 38 total) saw the field including our 20 first year players. The game suffered from a bit of a distracted heart as our team felt the pain of losing a beloved senior middie #18 BT Lowery to a potentially season ending shoulder injury in the early minutes of the game. Thoughts and prayers for BT's full recovery and return to play, we miss you on the field already.

I just wanted to say thank you for an awesome game on Friday. I have never seen a team as classy as Calvin was/is. It was a pleasure talking with you guys after the game, and I look forward to next year if we get to play you again. I wish #18 a fast and full recovery, and I'm sure he'll get through it just fine.
Thanks again from the whole UWEC team.

5. WI-Oshkosh 0-4
6. St. Thomas 3-1
If you're wondering why St. Thomas finished 6th, after winning the right to play in the championship game vs the winner of the upcoming NMU/Calvin game, they forfeited, losing their chance at one of the 3 trophies.
The Calvin players enjoyed the opportunity to play in this tournament again, it's almost a tradition now, playing for our 3rd year in a row, with this year being more competitive than ever.
We highly recommend that other MDIA-B teams plan to make the trip in 2007.

While I was unable to make this tourney, from years past I can agree with Andy. Superior dome is a pretty unique place to play, and the location is pretty impartial (meaning its a hell of a drive for most teams involved,) and it's a great way to get OOC requirements fulfilled early in the season.
Congrats to all teams involved.[/quote]

This isn't for sure but I think the Central vs. Grand Valley score was 16-10. Grand Valley gave a good run in the first half. But then Central pulled away in the second. Good luck to the Chippewas the rest of the season. Better strap it on for Purdue on Sat.
Chippewho???....Chippewaaassss...!!!!
