Lacrosse Combines Other Popular Sports
By Jed McClellan - 1 Feb 2006

When a basketball, hockey and soccer game occur simultaneously, it usually causes a conflict for sports fans. However, it's a daily reality for the BYU lacrosse team.

"Lacrosse is a conglomeration of hockey, basketball and soccer," BYU lacrosse captain Cameron Archibald said. "It has the importance of moving the puck around and the fast pace of hockey. The offense is like basketball in creating scoring opportunities through one-on-one moves, using picks and through motion offense. The field is similar to soccer in the need for spacing and strategies for applying pressure."

i meant stories about how lacrosse combines all the elements of other sports. I like to think the game has moved beyond that. I wasnt speaking to BYU or its newpaper in general.

I hear you...I was more making the comment that even at BYU where lacrosse has become quite big, most of the student body (38,000+) still don't know anything about the sport. Mine was more a comment about BYU than anything else.
