WCLL Teams! It's time to input your data on USLIA.com!

This season, we will rely on each MDIA team to input and maintain their own data on the USLIA.com site. The success of this voluntary system and the entire USLIA.com site relies on accurate, timely information from all MDIA teams, coast to coast.

Santa Clara Head Coach & WCLL Vice-President Gary Podesta will be the WCLL Conference Level Admin for the new USLIA.com database. (This applies to both WCLL Division A and Division B teams.)

The WCLL Head Coaches are asked to contact Gary via e-mail, as soon as possible, for information on how to access the database. Gary's e-mail is:
gjpodesta at msn dot com

Gary will set up an individual user account for each WCLL Team to access their page on USLIA.com. Once this account is set up, teams can access the site to input their team info, team roster, and the all important schedule of 2005 games.

Note that you will only input home games to avoid duplicate games in the master database. (If you are the host team for a neutral site game, you will need to enter this game as well.)

For now, just input your team info, roster, and list of "home" games. The scores and statistics portion of the database will be finalized later this week.

Your participation in this system is highly encouraged. It will provide many benefits. The new database will aid poll voters in making their poll votes in the race to the Div. A & Div. B championships in Minnesota. It will aid the voters in the very important All-America selection process. The bottom line is that this new system will benefit the entire association of 195 MDIA teams across the country.

WCLL teams should contact Gary directly if you have problems or questions. Send him an email or a Private Message (PM).

(The WCLL team names listed below will be changed to black once they have contacted Gary Podesta for a user account.)

Dear WCLL contacts,

When requesting you access information from me, please send the requests to gjpodesta@msn.com because I need to have your email address in order to develop your log on information.

Thanks,

Gary

I know you guys only have good intentions here, but just for a quick recap: I've entered my team's roster and schedule info onto our team website, league website and USLIA eligibility website. You guys really want us to do this again? I don't doubt for a second the ambitions we all have to see this succeed, but come on guys...

As Sonny said in his original post, it can only help later in the season when poll voters and all-america selection committee voters meet to discuss the merits of your team and players.

I know it's a pain. But the MDIA eligibility web site is for private use, not public consumption. That site is seperate from this site (USLIA.com).

We thought about it long and hard, but there is really no way around this. Sorry to create the double amount of work for you.

Couple of pointers on inputting your information for all teams

1. Only enter your home games. This includes neutral site games where you are the designated home team.

2. Only enter MDIA vs. MDIA games. No varsity opponents, men's post collegiate clubs, or non-MDIA collegiate club opponents.

3. When enter your home page address, be sure to use the full web address (URL). This includes the "http://" part in front of www.aggielacrosse.com. If you don't put in the full address, the link will be invalid.

At this time, I'm working on a few other minor issues that have yet to be resolved. So be sure to check back in this thread for updates.

Thanks!

Two more updates:

1. When entering phone numbers, use the same consistent format as follows:
404-555-1212

Be sure to use dashes (not parenthesis or periods or slash marks) and the appropriate area code.

2. You can delete contacts now, if you made an earlier mistake.

Someone needs to get some organization to this mess. Why do we need three (MDIA, USLIA.com and League) databases with schedules, rosters, and contact lists? What are the raters, pollsters, etc. going to do when the three databases disagree because different people are updating them? Raflax.

Sorry Raflax for the duplicate and triplicate work. I'm trying to create one web site that contains all info (schedules, scores, stats) for all 190+ MDIA teams across the country at USLIA.com.

We already addressed this in another thread:
http://forums.uslia.com/viewtopic.php?t=372

It's in your teams' best interest to use, update, maintain your info at USLIA.com. It will only help the pollsters and those who vote on post season awards like All-Americans, etc.

The MDIA only requires you to input data at one site - uslmdia.org/admin. You only enter data there one time (roster, application) and then use it for eligibility. There are not game reports this year on uslmdia.com, so you should be done with all of our national database requirements for the season now - unless you are required to print off a new eligibility form for a subsequent check. Even then, you don't have to reenter anything.

Your conference may require more because we won't have all of game reporting functionality they want on the national site until next year. That's up to your conference - not the MDIA.

This site, USLIA.com, is a private site. Entering data here is completely up to you. I recommend it, since it's the first place people will go for information, but we have no national policy saying you have to do it. My conference does not require game reporting this year, so we only enter results one place - here. If your conference does require reports, and you choose to keep this site updated so we have a national outlet for information, then you'll be doing two entries - not three.
