It might be good if we could get a schedule of the games this weekend up here, if anyone has that readily available. The only game I know of off-hand is the Tech is traveling to play SMU. So maybe we can get a list going to make some predictions off of.

I would love to join in and play but referees aren't very good at that kind of thing because we always go into games unbiased and without knowing, or caring, who the favorite is that day.

Usually, Chris Park or Tarzan would post up the games, but I will go ahead and put up this weekend's games gleaned from uslmdia.org. You can go to http://www.uslmdia.org and click on Lone Star Alliance.

Remember that Nicholls State University is out of the league according to Karl Lynch's post.

Saturday, January 28

Texas State at Baylor Waco 1:00 pm
Texas Tech at SMU Dallas 1:00 pm
Rice at Texas A&M College Station 1:00 pm
University of Oklahoma at TCU Fort Worth 1:00 pm

Sunday, January 29

Big early season matchup in Dallas! Has to be the game of the week. Defending conference champions Red Raiders, against, from what I hear, a talent loaded SMU Mustang squad.

Should be a good one in Big D. I wonder if my boy Jessexy would swing by, watch, and give us a game report?

I guess I'll start us out

Saturday, January 28

Texas State at Baylor
Texas Tech at SMU
Rice at Texas A&M
University of Oklahoma at TCU

Sunday, January 29

Baylor at Texas A&M
University of Oklahoma at St. Edwards

I'm really interested to see how some of these teams come out of the gate. I have no idea how A&M is going to look but even when they are "bad" they are better than most. Tx St looked good in the A&M tourney, and I think that is will be hard for Oklahoma to get a win this weekend only because they are a first year team (someone correct me if I am wrong on this, but I didn't hear anything about them last year even though they were not in the LSA) going on the road against two established teams. But a few years back when SMU came into Div A they did quite well when no one thought they would so it will be nice to see.

The exact same schedule on USLMDIA.org is available here on USLIA.com. Just take a look at the main USLIA.com page.

Saturday, January 28

Texas State at Baylor
Texas Tech at SMU
Rice at Texas A&M
University of Oklahoma at TCU

Sunday, January 29

Baylor at Texas A&M
University of Oklahoma at St. Edwards

Tech looked good at the A&M tourney and I would put them as the early favorite in the North with their great d-poles and goalie. TSU seems to improve every year but A&M looks to be more talented and experienced this year. This should be a competitive league with a little more parity because of the improvement of the younger teams (TSU, Baylor, SMU, UNT) to compete with Tech, UT, and A&M.

I think that the Texas State - Baylor game is just as big. Those two teams will be fighting for playoff spots late in the season. Tech, Tx State, Baylor and SMU will all be in the playoff hunt come April. Big games early on. Awesome.

tough start for baylor going against two of last years playoff teams to start out the year. i usually try to pick an upset as well so i took a shot in the dark with SMU beating the reigning champs, that way if it happens i can tell you all i told u so

Here my picks and predicted goal differences.

Saturday, January 28

Texas State at Baylor Waco 1:00 pm -TSU is returning too many good players and Baylor will struggle to keep up. TSU by 7

Texas Tech at SMU Dallas 1:00 pm- Tech is going to have to play a good, but young SMU squad. I see Tech pulling away in the mid 3rd quarter, but only after SMU hangs around in the first half. Tech by 8.

Rice at Texas A&M College Station 1:00 pm- A&M will be eager to get their season off on the right foot, Tony will have them ready to play. Rice has a tough opening game, but I wish them the best in this season back in LSA play. A&M by 14.

University of Oklahoma at TCU Fort Worth 1:00 pm- I don't know much about either program, but will side with the home team in this matchup. TCU by 9.

Sunday, January 29

Baylor at Texas A&M College Station 12:00 pm - A&M will be dominate in this matchup and I see them winning in double digits. A&M by 11.

University of Oklahoma at St. Edwards Austin 12:00 pm - Gotta go with the home squad, lots of driving for the OU squad this weekend, that kinda driving will kill your legs, St. Eds by 9.

Saturday, January 28

Texas State at Baylor ... TSU's gonna be the most watched team this year; especially after last year's great performance across the league. TSU by 8.
Texas Tech at SMU ... always a good game.
Rice at Texas A&M ... TAMU is gonna come out strong, by 14.
University of Oklahoma at TCU ... OU's got a lot to prove, being new in the LSA. My votes to the newbies, OU by 2 in a dogfight.

Sunday, January 29

Baylor at Texas A&M ... TAMU big against a then tired Baylor.
University of Oklahoma at St. Edwards ... St. Ed's by some change against a travel-weary OU.

I love Week 1 !!!
