Sorry Sonny, wasn't looking for personal details, just trying to get the facts. It's not everyday an entire team no longer exists (okay, maybe it happens occasionally in club lacrosse for various reasons). I hate to see this happen to any team, mainly because it potentially messes up the schedule for other teams, as well as for those kids on the team that had nothing to do with whatever happened.

Before anyone jumps to any conclusions based on rumors, why don't we all wait until someone from Rice and/or the LSA leadership posts something official?

I agree with Sonny that the LSA community will need to exercise forbearance until the LSA Commissioner announces something through his email.

I'm a freshman at Rice, and all I'm going to say is that punishments were handed down from the administration in what we feel was an extremely harsh and unnecessary way. We're in the appeals process right now, so things aren't certain really.
As far as hazing, some small things were blown way out of proportion. Things we as a team did voluntarily are being taken as something the captains forced us to do, which is untrue.
Just keep our captains in your thoughts as we try to get them off the hook.

Rice has informed the LSA that it will not compete for the remainder of the season.

Please refrain from discussing this issue further. The scheduling problems will be handled by the LSA officers. Captains and team officers will be contacted by email.
