I'm shocked no one has even talked about or commented on the preseason poll other then a typo?
2006 RMLC Division B Preseason Poll
1. Utah Valley State University – 76 points (7 first place)
(t)2. Fort Lewis College – 65 points (1)
(t)2. Montana State University – 65 points (1)
4. University of Northern Colorado – 56 points
5. Western State College – 54 points
6. CSU-Pueblo – 30 points
7. Colorado School of Mines – 25 points
8. Regis University – 23 points
9. University of Wyoming – 11 points
I would more then agree with UVSC, and Montana should be number 2 bassed on preseason (aka last year and maybe 1 or 2 fall games. I would def. have to question Fort Lewis's and Western states placing along with UNC If Western beat UNC at playoffs by more then 1 goal wouldnt that say maybe Western is in good shape considering they only grad 2?In turn above UNC? What about Fort Lewis having a dismall year last year? Based on fall season at Western's tourny they only beat western both games they played they only won by one goal each game one being in overtime.
It seems this league is stuck on the leagues existance and teams performance as a whole with UVSC MSU AND FLC being powerhouses, last time i checked pre-season polls for the most part are based on last season and a little scouting. I hope Wyoming brings something fierce this year just to prove a point and cause a whole lot conversation.
Why would people really vote regis over Wyoming also? Is Wyoming really perceived worse then an upstart team has anyone seen Regis play or have any support on why they are better the Wyoming? No offense to Regis it's just strange to see a brand new team above an established team. Things change and so can Wyoming just like Fort Lewis each team has ups and downs.
Just food for thought hoping to stir up some conversation to get everyone fired up for the spring season.
