From CatLax Man:
UCSB in a pretty easy win over Cal tonight. Final score was something like 11 or 12 to 3. The first half was all UCSB as Cal had a tough time even getting the ball into their half of the field. SB missed many wide open looks at the goal or the score could have been a lot worse. SB's defense was dominant and Patton controlled the faceoffs. SB started substituting very liberally early in the 1st half and almost everyone on their roster played. The play was somewhat sloppy the whole game with multiple people slipping on that slick carpet that they call a field.
Cal has some talent on defense, but their offense was lacking. SB's defense could've had something to do with that. The new player from Berkeley High that Cal has looks pretty good. Cal's team looks young and needs more seasoning. They may develop with some experience, but they could be a year away from making some noise.

For those of you who may be attending the UCSB v. NDNU game on Sunday, talk at the game at Cal last night was that the game will probably be played at Menlo College and not on the NDNU field. I will try to confirm that for sure later today, unless someone else can positively confirm that.

UCSB coach Mike Allen said that the game was at Menlo at 1PM on Sunday.
I agree with your assessment of the Cal-UCSB game Catlaxman. It was 9-1 UCSB at half and 10-3 final. The UCSB defense is as good as any I have seen in the USLIA. Cal also has a good defense. UCSB starters played very little after the middle of the second quarter.
The crowd was pretty big. It seemed like more than 50% UCSB fans.

Thanks for the confirm. By the way, I've got to get myself one of those "ACE" trophies one of these days.

SDSU beat LMU 5-0. LMU could not get anything going on offense and when they did get a shot off, it was usually some outside shot that the SDSU had an easy time with. Both goalies played well and most of the SDSU goals came in transition.

Looks like NDNU is for real. Should be a good pre-superbowl game. UCSB will have to play better than they did in the second half against Cal in order to win.

Score from Notre Dame:
UCSB 9- Notre Dame de Amur 2 mid 3rd quarter
There have been a lot of dirty play from notre dame. They have had several unreleasable penalties. UCSB have stepped up and played well. GO Gauchos. Go USLIA.

UCSB 14- NDNU 5
UCSB cleared the bench in the 4th quarter. Big win for the USLIA and the gauchos. Eric Johnson had a big game.

LMU is a mess.
Looks like we'll see UCSB in the finals again this year.
