www.aggielacrosse.com

Head there for the front page story. A partnership was established with North Texas Chapter of US Lacrosse to grow our high school tourney. Better exposure, more fields, corporate sponsors, great exposure for Aggie Lacrosse and the list goes on..........a win win for High School Lacrosse and the Texas A&M program.

The North Texas chapter has been very proactive and doing some great things. It was time for our program to partner and help further grown not only in that area, but across the state.

Sounds like a good move on the Aggies' part. Im sure with they're tourney being held in Dallas they will start to see better recruiting classes as a result.

The Aggielacrosse.com mentions Clark Field Complex in Plano, so would that be the John Clark Field? I would not be surprised that Matt Benson would chime in about that.

I wish it was John Clark Field but they won't let you touch the main field (we had a rain out my senior year of high school and our school wouldn't let us play in the big stadium on the turf for playoffs so we had to move the game to Jesuit so we could play it. Not saying that is why we lost, Jesuit beat us fair and square, but we won home field advantage for playoffs and didn't even get to play at home). It probably is the mini fields that are fenced in right next to the big stadium where Plano and Plano East (I don't know where West plays their games but I would assume they play them there too). Nice complex with two fields and bleachers and a scoreboard. Also have all the surrounding fields outside the complex if you need more fields but I am guessing the smaller complex would be home to the "championship" type games or any other big time games.

Here is a picture from a Plano alumni game from two years ago. My dad took a picture from the stands looking down at one of the fields with the stadium in the background. The other field within the complex is on the other side of this field.

Yes Brent,

The "Clark Field Complex" that they are talking about is actually called High Point Park Athletic Complex (but people refer to it like that because of its relative closeness to Clark Stadium). It is located in central plano right off of Spring Creek Parkway and US-75. During the Fall and Spring the fields are host to numerous soccer, baseball and pee-wee football leagues. And the fields were most recently the site of a youth Lacrosse Jamboree. The fields were in great condition and since most sports won't even be starting until feb. I see the fields being in much better shape than the old A&M fields. I don't know if the Clark "B" Field will be used for the later stages of the tourney but, most kids that grew up in the area have played lax at Clark "B"/ High Point fields.

From Benson's Picture the fields would be directly behind the person taking the picture.

that's the only part about the move that i really question.

i always saw this tourney as a great way to get kids on the a&m campus. it was really a recruiting advantage that no other team in the state could claim - one of the premier tournaments in the state that was guaranteed to bring hundreds (if not thousands in recent years) of high schoolers to college station for a weekend.

now all of those kids, while they may be still playing in an 'Aggie' tournament, will be seeing some fields in the middle of dallas.

Steps are being made to bring players to CST on a "recruiting" bases. There are many other things in the works for the A&M program that will give players opportunities to visit CST. Meanwhile, this will help A&M get more exposure as well as generate more revenue for the program.

Dustin, I take that you are referring CST to College Station, not Central Standard Time. I also figured that CST must be the abbreviation of an airport in CS, right?

I don't know about you guys, but going to college station for the high school tournament is one of the reasons that made me not want to go there...
