CLINTON, S.C. – Gordon Corsetti, Ben Ewing, and Bryce Simantel have signed to play men's lacrosse at Presbyterian College announced by head coach Jason Childs.

Corsetti, a 5-9, 140 lb long stick midfielder from Roswell, Ga., plays for coach Mike Gannon at Pace Academy. Last season he picked up 42 groundballs. A two-year starter, Corsetti was named to the North Georgia Lacrosse League' s All-League team in 2003 as well as the Mount Pisgah High School's MVP in 2003.

"Gordon will bring a great deal of energy and passion to our program," Childs said. "With his intensity and hustle alone, Gordon makes things happen. Add in his ability with the ball and he becomes a threat that I am glad to have."

Ewing, a 5-10, 160 lb midfielder from Atlanta Ga., also plays for coach Mike Gannon at Pace Academy. Last season, he had a 78% face off percentage as well as 20 goals, 13 assists, and picked up 84 groundballs. Ewing set a school record with six goals in a game. Off the field, he is very involved with community as he is a Habitat for Humanity service leader.

"Ben is a crafty and tough midfielder with a knack for scoring," Childs said. "He never gives up and will bring a great deal of skill to our team. He has great dodging ability and his speed is also something exciting."

Simantel, a 5-5, 132 lb midfielder from Baltimore, Md., attends Calvert Hall College. Last season for his Calvert Hall Red Birds club team, he had 17 goals, nine assists, and 17 ground balls in just six games before getting injured. He was also named to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes National High School Team last season.

"Bryce is a super quick midfielder who will help develop the offense," Childs said. "His stick skills are great and he will add both balance and depth to the midfield position. With his dodging ability, he will make us a threat from most places on the field."

"As a group, I am very excited to be signing these three young men," Childs added. "Not only are they good lacrosse players, but they are great student-athletes.

"Academically these students personify what Presbyterian College is all about, and that is a great thing. It was a pleasure recruiting them as young men, and it will be an even greater pleasure coaching them over the next four years."

The three signees are the first for the Blue Hose men's lacrosse team for the 2005-2006 signing period. PC will begin their inaugural season on February 17, 2006 at home against Limestone College.
