Lacrosse clinic set for Saturday
The Utah Lacrosse Association is playing host to a boys' lacrosse coaches and players clinic Saturday. The clinic's featured speakers will be the coaching staff of NCAA powerhouse Notre Dame, in South Bend, Ind. "It's exciting to travel to parts of the country such as Utah, where the sport is growing 25 percent per year," said Notre Dame coach Kevin Corrigan, who has won 12 conference titles with the Irish. "My staff and I are looking forward to furthering that growth." The event is a teaching opportunity for Utah participants, according to Tom Summers, Team Utah youth coach and clinic coordinator. "To receive tips and instruction from, and interact with, a coaching staff the caliber of Notre Dame's will pay dividends for players and programs throughout the state," Summers said. The coaches clinic will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Salt Lake City Library, Room B. Registration is $35. The players clinic, for boys ages 7 to 11, is at the Snyderville Basin field house in Park City. All 50 player spots have been filled.
