Washington State Lacrosse Club Folds

Washington State Lacrosse Club Folds

Postby Dan Wishengrad on Wed Feb 02, 2005 11:57 am

PNCLL President Josh Barbour announced late Tuesday night that WSU lacrosse has also folded. Barbour noted that the Club's leaders "failed to meet deadlines imposed by their University's club sports office, and therefore the team is not sanctioned by Washington State University" in 2005. He also noted that the Cougar Lacrosse Club, with only eight eligible players "did not have enough players to field a team and fufill its commitments to the PNCLL"

Josh also stated that because this announcement comes as the season is starting, WSU will "still appear on the .... master schedule. All teams scheduled to play WSU will receive 1-0 forfeit wins."

Does that mean you can pick up another game on that day anyway? Or can you not cause you are still "playing them" and just getting a forfiet?

Not only is this unfortunate for the PNCLL but also for some younger guys I coached, including my cousin. If only they had a coach and some dedication...

Chris, I'm sure they could use you next year... or you could move to Tacoma and help with UPS.

ok grandpa enough with the recruiting...what this league is dedication and balance. in order to have a strong east and west conference we need an east conference period. montana and wsu have been down for a few years. maybe with some of the idaho schools coming into our leauge it will open up some oppurtunity over the mountains. untill then we need to as a league help these schools develop into a solid team and organization. look that wcll and rocky mountain league. solid teams up and down the leagues. we need that here for respect and competition. im sure the pncll was tired of seeing SFU always winning and going undefeated like our league was a joke. now oregon is leading the pack and giving SFU a run. we need that for our B league and lower A teams. help produce a balanced PNCLL and not a stacked upper A league team.

I would think that you can schedule another game that day and also get the forfeit. It was a double-header day.
After all, why waste a good Spring day when you could be playing lax??
