CHS seeks lacrosse coaches
By: North County Times -
CARLSBAD ---- Lacrosse will become a school-sanctioned sport at Carlsbad High School for the first time next spring.
Trustees with Carlsbad Unified School District approved almost $8,000 last week to hire varsity coaches to lead a boys' team and a girls' team. The money will also fund a coach for girls' golf.
Lacrosse have been played as a club sport for girls and boys at Carlsbad High since 2000, said Andrea Lambert, faculty advisor for the girls' team. Now, with the board's approval of coaching funds, she and Katie Duncan, the boys' faculty advisor, are seeking applications for coaches.
"This is a great opportunity for someone who has played the sport to get your chance at coaching," Lambert said.
Lambert and Duncan said they are seeking people who have played lacrosse - maybe in college or with a club. The ideal candidate would know the game, its rules, skills and strategies, Duncan said. Coaching or teaching experience would be a plus, Lambert and Duncan agreed.
For more information on the coaching positions or how to apply, call Lambert at 760-331-5254 or Duncan at 760-331-5722.
