Texlax's website is down and the toll free number disconnected.
Anybody know what's up with them? I'm assuming the phone & site went to the store in the Woodlands.
If they are out of business, who's everybody using in-state?

Yep, TEXLAX has closed its doors for good. You should try SouthSwell Lacrosse they have a store in Austin, but if you are in another part of Texas they ship out of Cali. and have a great selection of gear.
Check 'em out

Well that s**ks! The Larks were pretty good people. I hope that all is well with them. I looked at that store but I needed some helmet repair parts and I was having trouble finding the snaps.
Called over to our fieldhouse and the equipment mgr game me a dozen replacement snaps for free!!!
Thanks for the info though Monkey.

I did a little internets digging and found a message board that said they closed in June and declared bankruptcy. A little more Google action gave me
http://www.e-lacrosse.com/roadkill.html.
The article specifically mentions Texlax and Texas' support of lax retail. In addition Bacharach Rasin, a 100 year old company and inventor/maker of the infamous old school "Bucket" helmet went belly up in September.

AllStar GB Lacrosse is the only store in Houston that I am aware of selling lax gear exclusively. I work there and business is doing well. We are in the old TexLax locale (W. Alabama near Lamar HS) and our investors include coaches and lacrosse families in the Houston area. Another store was supposed to go up earlier this month, via the old texlax people under the ownership of David McGill or Don Goodson, I can't remember the name, but they own car dealerships in and around the Houston area; But apparently they are not going to open up shop any time soon. Our store reps are Ray Childress (me) from UH, Adam and Dane Questell (A&M and Houston Men's), Owen (Lamar and Bayou City). Give us a call and come by and shoot on our goal and hit the instore wall.

TEXLAX BLOWS! I have to give my opinion, TEXLAX sucked. I am glad they are no longer in business. The only reason I used to go there was to see some buddies who worked up there. TEXLAX would serve the community better if they just stuck with internet sales. Anyways, the place to go in Austin is SouthSwell sports, I am not sure who and where the owners are from, presumably from Cali. regardless, they are much more involved in the Texas Lacrosse Community, something that TEXLAX never really got involved with. In my opinion the local retailers should try and promote the sport, not just sell top dollar Warrior equipment to kids that don't even know how to catch and throw. It is the retailers that only care about $$$ that will be going out of business (ie. TEXLAX) You gotta get involved in the education and coaching of the local Youth Lacrosse Community, much like SouthSwell and Adrenaline have been doing since they moved into the ATX.

all you guys don't know what the story was. I worked there and none of what you say is true EXCEPT the store went bankrupt and closed. That's all Im saying about it. Thanks.
