Good Article, but Flawed

The Article does a nice job of talking about their program, but it has one glaring mistake.

UTA was not forced into Division B. UTA chose to play Division B.

It also says that we won a conference title in 2000 also which is certainly not true. We weren't even part of the SWLA then and didn't even win a game that spring.

Oh well, the fact that they wrote an article about our fall interest meeting floors me. They've been very reluctant to give us any pub in the past, we were lucky to get one article a year during previous seasons. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come.

Even when we did when the championship in 2004, the article that they wrote about us focused more on why we weren't going to Missouri to play in the "unofficial" National Championship. The LSA championship was only a blurb.

But, like Gary said, hopefully this is a sign of only good things to come. Not only for us, but the other club sports at our school. We have a Roller hockey team that competes for a national title every year, and they like us have gotten very little coverage in the past.

Maybe the newspaper is starting to realize that success stories about UTA programs are only a good thing.

Despite the errors in the article. Overall it was a positive article for out team.

Continuing to pray for our Mississippi and Louisiana countrymen and women.

Either that or one of your players is now dating a reporter or the editor?

I know for a fact that you dont have to "date" a girl on the paper to get an article written about your team. I just have to spend "time" with them.

Little time needed

Apparently you only need a couple of minutes as evidenced by the San Marcos trip last spring.

Before this "dating a reporter" gets too far off topic, I do want to congratulate UTA on their success in getting more campus recognition! The game needs all the publicity it can get and UTA has come a long way in a short time.

Having said that, surely the team can find some freshmen desperate enough to start "dating" the yearbook staff next!
