speaking for the B division. Calvin represented the CCLA B well. The game with UVSC was as close as it could have possibly been... it went into OT. UVSC went on to lose to San Diego by 3 in the championship game. IUP would be a good team in the national tourney as well. Next year it will be fun to see them compete in the conference tourney and possibly get into the national tournament.

Have you guys considered coming out to the LA area during your spring break? All of the B teams in the WCLL are in the LA area, or fairly close by (ie San Diego and Irvine). I know that Fort Lewis, Western State, and MIT (div. III) did that this year. It was really great to see some of the OOC talent. Another bonus is the weather--or usually that's the case.

yes, coach George Counes is moving on to coach D II Pace University. Long time assistant and former MSU grad Matt Holtz is stepping in.

MSU is one of many changes in the CCLA coaching ranks. I believe Oakland and Indiana are also changing coaches. I think a few others as well, but I cant remember right now.

I know Central Michigan is now looking for a new coach. And maybe I'm wrong on this, but is Miami also looking for a new coach?

Major shakeups in the CCLA with all the coaching changings and Michigan losing so many all americans, it could be a down year for CCLA teams.

could be, but teams like indiana (and many others from what people are posting) have close to there whole team returning. i wouldnt be surprised in most teams are promoting an assistant coach, those two things should make the transition pretty smooth for most teams. and i really doubt michigan is going to struggle replacing lost talent. they had a few great freshman this past year. im sure more are to come. and im sure they have some guys that have been waiting on the bench for their shot. mich will be fine. so will the ccla.

Michigan State is coming to LA. We have games tentatively scheduled with Chapman, UCLA, and LMU.

Yes, we cut. Even the guys who were on the team the year before have to make the team again. There are others coming I know about who are not on the Laxpower list. We usually have between 80-100 at tryouts, and we cut to between 35 and 40. We're excited about this class. I think it has the potential to be the best group we've ever had coming in.

You might also consider contacting the folks at Claremont and Pepperdine. I know they are Division B, but they both have good teams. They both also play some of the Division A teams during their season. Last year 7 of Claremont's 16 games were WCLL Division A teams. San Diego is another option for you with three great teams down that way. They're about two hours down the road from LA.
In any event, I'll try to come out and see one of your games.
