Easy way for LSA to get recognition

Easy way for LSA to get recognition

Postby lax on Thu Apr 28, 2005 3:56 am

We complain about the LSA getting no recognition and such...
yet we dont do simple things like post our stats on the main USLIA
database website.

The way I see it, only TX St, Tulane, Houston, UNT, SFA, UTA have posted their stats....every team should follow in their footsteps and do the easy task of putting up stats, so the players who deserve national recognition, get some publicity.

Just contact Chris Park <cpark@shsu.edu> and he will set each team up with an account+password and in a few easy steps, your stats will be up and hopefully that is one easy step to this league getting more recognition.

... it won't really help with the poor OOC record we have but we'll work on that :D

Stat's shouldn't really matter in a mediocre league. OOC is what really matters, and if any team from the LSA beats an OOC team, those stats should be posted, not stats from in conference games .

All stats should matter, but the problem is not just LSA teams who dont enter their stats, but all teams in the MDIA. There are a lot of teams in the MDIA who dont enter their stats at USLIA.com, mostly because all they reflect is goals/assists/ppg. It doesnt reflect #games played, playing time or any defensive stats. I think if USLIA.com expanded their stats page to be more like the other league/team stats pages we would see more use. As it is now some of the top teams in the country havent entered their stats there. So no one on there is truly compared across the nation.

Also it takes time to enter all that stuff in, including reentering your roster and then posting stats for your team. That may be a cop out, but for a lot of teams that means someone, usually a volunteer, doing all of that. A lot of teams would benefit by entering their own stats on their webpage. I looked at all the LSA-A webpages and only found stats on a few and some were from yrs past. TSU is guilty of this too, which is something we hope to remedy this summer, overhauling the webpage.

The LSA webpage could also be a lot nicer. But this would either take a lot of time, which the current webmaster may not have or money, which the most teams are short on anyway. Plus no one has really stepped up to tackle any of this besides the people who already do it.

Tommy you're so negative. Just walk outside the store and scream. Better yet, go over and give Justin a kick in the shins. Are those 8 year olds bothering you again. " Hey mister, how much is this head. Hey mister how much are these gloves. Hey mister how much is this shaft" Hey mister do you play lacrosse?
Love you!

OOC games is the only way to earn respect. Some of the teams in the league didnt even play a OOC game this season, including my own. Nobody is going to care about stats from a league where the best teams dont even win OOC games. Are the stats even up to date and correct? I know houston's stats are wrong.
