I am confident that we will hear from Karl on how the LSA All-Star process will work.

We need to do the All Stars by next weekend for the Championship weekend. We normally play the All Star game Sunday morning, the day of the championship game.

Is there going to be an All-Star game? I do not remember one being played last year in San Marcos. Although, I know they have been played in years past.

There was an All-Star game last year in San Marcos. It was Sunday morning before the final games. Only those not playing showed up. We had a keeper in one cage and a trash can in the other. I know the Baylor and Tech guys showed and it actually was kind of a fun morning, although a little too early to be fun. As for it being a good All-Star game? It was a joke. Half the all-stars weren't there and the ones that were got the opportunity to shoot on a trashcan.
I like the route other conferences are taking in looking to send their All-Star team to a tournament like Vail or one more local in the summer. This is a good way to highlight the "best" of the conference and bring some recognition. It is also a good to award the players by giving that spot in the tournament.
I'm not sure how the MDIA is organized, but it would also be pretty cool to see a MDIA All-Star tournament with each conference represented and maybe couple it with a HS tourney to raise money for US Lacrosse or the MDIA. Maybe each conference could rotate hosting it, hold it during the summer, and each conference takes a portion of the money raised. That way conferences can use it to promote lacrosse in their area with the HS and younger kids.
As far as I know there is no All-Star game scheduled and I have gotten the impression that one will not be played at all. Maybe the guys selected for all conference can pull a team together for something in the summer or fall.

All-Star Game
There will not be an All-Star Game this year.
All-LSA and All-American selections will be made shortly. We should have an announcement of it by tomorrow.
In the meantime, I would suggest that every team pick a voting member to cast All-LSA ballots.
You need to pick 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team players at Attack, Midfield, Defense, Goalie, LSM/FO.
You also need to pick a Coach of the Year, MVP, and ROY.

maybe the players who are selected can form some type of game during the weekend of the finals. i think it would be fun and create some interleague unity. guess all we can do is wait till the selections are made to discuss the issue more. good luck to the teams that are in the playoffs.
