UofM vs. Duluth Updates

Postby Cameron pederson on Sat Apr 16, 2005 8:58 pm

Someone that is at the game just called me and gave me an update.

UofM 5
UMD 5 At the Half

#23 haugen from u of m was taken off the field in a stretcher. Hope he is going to be OK. Minnesota was down 2-4 at the time and came back to tie it before half.

The game must be a very competetive and heated one. The game had to be interupted because a a dispute between both teams coaches. (from what I was told)

I will post a final score when completed.

Lars and Graff got a little heated? That is uncharacteristic of them both. No doubt that the game is a heated one though. 5-5 at the half...Very exciting. I'm anxious to see how this one goes!

Just got called

Final Score:

DULUTH: 9
UMN: 8

I guess Duluth was down 6 - 8, and put the winner home with about a minute left.

9-8 UMD wins. Final

Gophers were up 8-6 with 5 minutes left in the game and could not hold onto the lead. Looks like they still are having trouble getting the Win the against duluth.

8-6 with 4:02 left, #6 goertz back to back lefty goals and got a slash penalty on the second one and then UMD scored on the man up with 2:10 left.

Don't over exaggerate the yelling between lars and graff it was a close game.

However VERY disapointed in UMD considering the program that they did not hav a horn, score book or scorers table ready!

Haugen is okay, stitches on his face and he was in the hospital for awhile for precautions about a possibel neck injury but he is okaywith maybe a mild concussion, hope to have him back for playoffs.

Alex Patterson a 3rd line midi freshmen filled in at attack very well for Haugen and scored a goal.

The game had numerous penalties on both sides and I think someone from UMD actually had about 7 minutes of penalties....

I would like to thank UofM for making the trip up to Duluth. It was beautiful weather for once. By far the most exciting game I have ever been a part of.

This person got charged a two minute penalty for the hit on Haugen, and it was actually someone else with the hit. That is a big chunk of the 7 minutes there.

Fun game to play in although my most intense game was UMLL championship overtime vs. the U, and after that was Sonoma St. overtime thriller.

Gopher 29-

Your team loses yet another close game to UMD and your major concern is that UMD didn't have a horn, score book and a scorers table? Interesting!

I personally would be more concerned in the fact that you blew a two goal lead in the last 3 minutes or so? Choke.....again.

But that is just me.

Enough.

Please confine any & all discussion of UMLL contests to the "weekly" thread.
