Coming down the strech
Who will represent the GRLC at Nationals?
He who laughs last laughs loudest.
He who hits hardest hits last.
He who hits hardest hits last.

Illinois is starting to look pretty good with a 5-goal win over Mizzou, and a 12-goal win over Wash U. Lindenwood has played tight games with all three of those teams, but have won them all. I'm intrigued to see what happens in the Mizzou-Wash U game on Saturday. I think there could be at least 4 great, close games in the playoffs, and ISU could do some serious damage as well. Should be fun to watch.

I agree. I think the playoffs are going to be very interesting. Lindenwood, even with all they've done this season, only have one-goal victories over Mizzou and Illinois, and a two-goal victory over WashU. All three games could have gone either way.
I don't know how the break down of the tournament looks yet, but I am assuming that LU (or anyone for that matter) is going to have to go through two of those teams to win out, which could be an exhausting endeavor. Sets a great stage for an upset.

Parody in the GRLC seems back to the way it was in 2003. Looks like it will be an exciting finish.

Sorry Alex:
Parody is a form of satire that imitates another work of art in order to ridicule it.
I have made that mistake for years.

I'm not so sure on this one. Check out the dictionary.com definitions of berth and birth.
I'm sticking with "birth" on this one. Sorry moderators . . .

Sorry, Alex, but a birth is the result of something being born. A berth is a location. A team can't be born to the playoffs, but they certainly can be located there.

Is not your playoff life being "born?" I will succumb to age on this one and give you the benefit of the doubt. But the second I see something on ESPN or Sports Illustrated to the contrary, you can bet this argument will rear (as in a child, or as in bringing up the?) its head again!

Now that's how you hijack a thread. I was glad to see that I got parity correct in another thread, but that's only because Sprout had already used it.
Back to the topic, I'm not sure what to make of the Illinois - Indiana score, because I don't know anything at all about Indiana, but I would have picked Illinois to win it in a close game before the game. I'll just say that I'm glad I don't try to predict the scores or outcomes of games, because I would have been way off on just about every game played in the past 3 weeks. So, I have no idea what's going to happen in playoffs, but it should be fun to watch.
