With only two weeks left in the UMLL regular season some serious seeding implications will take place this week on the field. Safe travels and good luck to all teams playing!

Not to point anything out but I hear there is a big game between two pretty large rivals who went into overtime in a championship game the last time they played????

Quick question:
Is there anybody that can post updates of the Minnesota-UMD game? I would try and be there, but it's in Duluth, correct? I'm really interested in seeing how this one goes.

If someone wants to PM me I can try to work something out to call after each quarter or have someone there call someone that will be around to post the score.

And yes the game will be played on Griggs Field in Duluth at 7:30 under the lights on saturday night

The UMN vs. UMD game will be one to remember. They always are.

UMD is giving up a ridiculous 4.1 goals per game, while UMN is giving up an equally ridiculous 4.16.

Shot selection is one key for both teams, as clean looks will be in short supply.

I expect nerves to affect both sides, most likely this will be limited to the first quarter.

If the defenses dominante, the play in between the boxes will dictate the pace of the game. Ground balls, turnovers, and faceoffs will create the extra possessions that will decide who wins.

Not to underestimate the importance of this weekends game, but May 1st is near. In my humble, somewhat blashphemous opinion, the winner of this Saturday's game is irrelevant, what's improtant is how the loser handles the defeat.

So long as us fans behave ourselves, this game should be incredibly fun.

Is it Friday yet? Work is overrated, and I'm itching to get up to Duluth.

UMD v. UMN

Both teams are fairing well this year (unfortunately I have been in seclusion and unable to observe either team in person), but judging by history I see four factors, two internal, two external...

DEPTH - EXPERIENCE - COLD - FANS

EXPERIENCE - Bulldogs have far more BIG game experience, I've seen the Gophs crack under pressure before, but the Gophs are the ones with something to prove on Saturday. It is all a matter of first quarter momentum, if the Gophs get it, they better keep it. However, if the Dogs get it, game over...

COLD (and usually wet) - Bulldogs live and practice in it... be ready for some sticks to start acting funny...not mention to mention a fast game (old school astro-turf (correct me if I'm wrong))

FANS - UMD gets alot of support at home, but I have seen it work as a distraction (too much going on behind the players that are far too close to their friends and family in the stands). Plus the Duluth fans are hositle, it could really motivate the Gophs. Gophs have keep cool, UMD has to keep focused

DEPTH - This is a close one, and where the true battle will be fought. If these teams play each other as hard as they typically do, they are going to need everyone on the roster (time to find the weakest link the chain). Which team has conditioned better?

Answer 7:30 PM, Saturday

It is the new field turf, got changed this fall. Similar to the plymouth dome.

Good learning experience for all Blugolds and we got to use a newly finished stadium for our only home game of the season.

There is acess inside the school (wireless in many locations) but you would have to leave the game to go up to say the library to get on the web.

My offer is still out there if someone will be at thier computer during the game (7:30 pm sat) I can have someone call with updates.

Wireless Computer

Why doesn't someone from our team bring a wireless computer(Holle). Champ will probably be crying on the sideline about some minor injury, he'll have time to post the score.

P.s. Sorry champ, but I like to give you a hard time.

Being that we are from the south, weather should be a factor if its cold and rainy.....being that duluth is next to the north pole, they are more adapted to this climate....so if its cold, I dont know what I will do to prevent my stick from "acting funny."

Hey Champ I was pretty surprised that you picked Bethel to beat St. Thomas. How are they this year? The Tommies' only two losses were to A team Stevens Point the first game of the season and St Johns in OT. Just curious, what makes you think they'll beat us this weekend? Im not being a smartass I was just wondering if theres something you know about them that we dont... Regaurdless, thanks for the extra motivation
