Good try MSU - even with this loss, your team did really well in OOC games.

Good game overall. It got a little fiesty at the end and the fans were always welcoming to us. Thanks to Marquette for hosting this weekend.

SJU was able to pull it out 12 - 11 in OT. This game was a classic to say the least. SJU has a great squad, and great coaching. We enjoyed playing them and look forward to meeting them again in the conference tourney. I think SJU proved that they are one of the elite B teams, but I think that we also proved that we can hang with the best too. My compliments to the Johnny squad and staff, you guys run an excellent program. I wish all games could be that close, it makes it fun.

Great game overall. St. Thomas came to play, but they always seem to against us. St. Thomas is underrated nationally to say the least. I am also very impressed that both teams exhibited better sportsmanship than our encounter at the Excel. Already looking forward to the next go round...

any breakdown of the scoring by quarter for sjt ust? and who got the clutch goal to win it? Also, the 12-0 score was right but the marquette goalie was standing on his head or it could have been a lot worse, credit goes out to him.

UST just came out to play and seemed to just want it more then SJU. SJU was able pull of the win after finnaly showing some emotion in the fourth quarter and in overtime. I will post the breakdown of scoring tommorow with the link to the 80+ pictures that were taken. Ben Ivory was able to get the winning goal after a flurry of shots by SJU in overtime. SJU's worst game in a long time- good thing we were able to pull out the win.

Caught the second half and overtime of the SJU-UST game, and from what I could tell, UST seemed to have better individual play all over the field, but didn't really play together. It really showed up defensively as the close D(which was impressive) had takeaways in bunches, and then they just couldn't clear. It resulted in a lot of turnover, and at least three breakaways that the Johnnies attack (also really impressive at times) ran very, very smoothly.
Faceoffs were a back and forth battle the whole time. St. John's wings got to a few more after the scrums than St. Thomas', but I'd chalk most of that up to depth.
