As we gear up for our first road trip of the season we here at IUP were wondering what surfaces calvin and michigan-dearborn play on. If someone could get back to me that would be great.

Once the grounds dept. allows it, I'm sure Calvin will be playing on their grass soccer field, which is a nice surface. This past weekend they played Grove City at night at the local high school, which has a beautiful SportTurf football field that is also fully marked for lacrosse. (I guess that's how you can tell when lacrosse has arrived at a school!)
If it wasn't for the expense of renting the place I'm sure Coach Sharp wouldn't mind having that as his home field...

The weather forecast for Saturday at Calvin suggests Partly Cloudy with a high of 55, so I'd say we should be in good shape to play on the grass soccer field that is inside the track. The college is pretty good to us, as far as field usage and we try to be good stewards, not playing too many games on the fields and plus it's fun to play a game or two under the lights at EGR HS. In case you didn't know, Calvin does not have football, so, the soccer field is the primary field on campus. It has not been touched for 6 months, so it should be newly lined and in fine shape.
I sent an email a couple months ago with directions, so, hopefully you're all set. If not, you should have my cell number.

UMD plays on a grass soccer field at Henry Ford Community College, right next door to UMD.
