Just want to make sure everyone out there has heard about the MLL Game coming to Portland, Oregon on August 9th. Two time defending champions Philadelphia Barrage will take on the New Jersey Pride and their new rookie laden roster which includes Matt Danowski.

In-conjunction with the best lacrosse action the state of Oregon has ever seen MLL PDX will also feature the NW Challenge Lacrosse tournament. The tournament will feature three divisions, 7/8 boys, HS Boys and a Men’s open bracket. Boys games will run Friday and Saturday (August 8th & 9th), and the men’s bracket will play games on Saturday and Sunday (August 9th & 10th).

If anyone is interested in entering a team or would like more information feel free to email at: info@mllpdx.com

Full details can be found at www.mllpdx.com

Please spread the word as attendance to events such as these greatly affect the likelihood of more professional lacrosse action coming to the Northwest. Let’s make the MLL take notice of the Northwest!

Anyone planning on putting a team together for this, or just planning on attending?

I'm attending, I'll probly drag some of my players out there with me.

I'm down to make a team for the HS Boys bracket and romp on some unsuspecting fools

Actually just checked the website and it looks like the Men's Open bracket has been scrapped.....

Anyone with a team looking to play that weekend should consider the 'Brawl in McCall' (http://mccall.laxeyed.org/).

With the Men's Open bracket scrapped, this tournament is a great alternative. McCall, Idaho is a beautiful lake resort town, about 2 hours from Boise.

This year's tournament has two Boise-based teams:

'Whistlepigs', mostly older Boise State alumni and associated hooligans.

'Ridaho', mostly current BSU and UI players, with a few additions.

In addition to these teams, the Palo Alto Ducks will be making the trip up for the second year in a row from Cali, and a team of assorted bandits and vagabonds from Montana should also be there.

It's a great time for lacrosse, and a great place to enjoy a summer weekend!

Any interested teams please email: boisestatelacrosse@gmail.com

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Men's Bracket still open

There IS a Mens open bracket still. The Mens bracket was added after the website launched due to intrest from club teams. Cost is a mere $200 per team and we are still looking for a couple more squads. The PNCLL is welcome to come represent.

Will-
We would love another HS team! Shoot me an email early next week and we can get the ball rolling. info@mllpdx.com

Spread the word! This will be the biggest and best LAX event ever in the state of Oregon!

This may be a great opportunity to put together a team or two from the PNCLL. . .maybe another D2 "all-star" team? I know the team that went to Victoria two years ago had a blast playing together. I would love to put a team of PNCLL guys together for this tourney, but that weekend my daughter turns 3 - so I doubt I'll be skipping her birthday party at the pool for a weekend of lacrosse. . .

If anyone (T-chuk??) wants to lead a group of PNCLL players down to that tourney, let me know. I might even be willing to sponsor you guys myself. (only if Snell plays of course). . .

So far we've got 15 guys on board for the Portland tournament, still looking for 5 more. The roster as of right now is as follows:

Midfield: Pete Dills, Reid Anderson, Alex White
Luke Hansen, Jeremy Higuchi, Kyle McWhirter
Jake Mehl
LSM: Landon Spady
Defense: Jim Serratt, Jim Slowey, Justin Brown
Goalie: Stephen Blair, Brian Wilbur

If anyone from ANY of the all-league teams is interested in joining us you can PM me or find me on facebook.

Maybe next year there can be some compromise on which weekends are reserved for which tournaments in the NW. Honestly, there are 4 weekends of men's club games boxed into 7 weeks...

Vail - June 28th - July 7th(?)

Palo Alto - July 12th

Tahoe - July 25th-27th

McCall and Portland - August 8-10

I had heard that the Portland tournament was on hiatus this year. Perhaps someone can confirm that it was because of the MLL game and associated events?

is Justin Brown really going to play? He has a torn meniscus. I told him the other day that he played almost half a season with it torn, might as well play a little more haha.

I am also trying to get a team together (very quickly) made up from old South Salem High School players. How many games will a team get to play?

So far I guess we are guranteed 3 games in the mens bracket. You will want to get ahold of kyle chrisman when you have a team together... kyle.chrisman@portlandjax.com
