I'm trying to drum up a few more HS teams to participate in the Star of the North Games Boys Lacrosse Tournament, because we're running a US Lacrosse Referee Development Program in association with the tournament. USL is flying in top officials from around the country to work with officials from our area, but we need 12 teams in the tournament in order to train the maximum number of officials.

Teams may be made up of players who played JV or V this spring, including recently-graduated seniors. Cooperative teams are allowed, so if you don't have enough guys who are interested you can partner with another team or teams.

All games will be officiated by 3 officials, including at least one with experience at the national or international level, and there will be sideline observers as well. We know a lot of you complain about officiating; well, here is your chance to do something positive to help us develop better officials!

The tournament will be held June 21-22 in St. Paul. Full details are posted at:

(The registration deadline has been extended to June 7.) Please PM me if you want more details and also to let me know if you're planning to enter a team. You can register at the site above.

Oh, and just a heads up: All MSHSL teams/coaches need an approved Summer Coaching Waiver request signed by the schools AD. Schools should refer to MSHSL Bylaw 208.00 for reference.
