Champlin Park beats St. Cloud (But watch St. Cloud - Good group of athletes, one defenseman in particular that is going to St. Johns (MN))

St. Paul beats Orono (this is the season St Paul has been building toward)

I'll pick my upset - Rochester over Andover.

Blaine over SlP.

The way it is bracketed CP plays St Paul and Blaine would play Rochester

Those will be good games (if they happen....)

Blaine at St. Louis Park is today, not 6/3.

Champlin Park over St Cloud - Cloud's results look a bit inconsistent, and CP has put up impressive numbers for GF and GA all season. They also play very hard all game, making it hard to come from behind. I think you need to get up early on CP.

St Paul over Orono - Orono has put together a great season, I believe it's their best ever. But St Paul has done better.

Rochester C/JM over Andover - This should be a great game. Roch has several seniors who were key players in 07 and will be looking to get revenge from last year's semifinal loss. They haven't been tested nearly as much as Andover. I think they will win unless Andover gets ahead early.

St Louis Park over Blaine - Should also be a good game. I haven't seen Blaine since the beginning of the season, but it looks as if they've improved quite a bit. SLP has a good goalie, big and aggressive D, and some good weapons on offense. I think Blaine will hold them for a while, but SLP will come out with a close victory.

I'd be most interested to see St Paul vs CP in the semis, especially if it was televised!

SLP vs. Blaine

SLP in a tight one. I believe 5-4. Not a good shooting game for either team. SLP's defense and ability to clear put them over the top.

I'm told St. Paul won going away, 12-2 unofficially.

Any other scores?

And I'm owing SLP an apology!

Saint Paul won 12-7 in a game that wasn't nearly that close. Saint Paul led off the scoring inside of thirty seconds of the opening faceoff and built a 10-goal lead going into the last period.

Flurry of late scores by Orono came in the fourth against the Celts' bench.

Yesterday:

Champlin Park 10
St. Cloud 4

Semifinals:

Andover @ St. Louis Park (Ainsworth Park) 5:00 Today

Champlin Park vs. St. Paul (probably Thursday; St. Paul has the right to host but may end up playing at CP if they can't get their field; time TBA).

SLP vs Andover

SLP 9
Andover 8
In Double OT
Saw the game... Both teams played their tails off! Andover took a quick 3-0 lead and I think it was tied or Andover by one @ half. Andover Scored with under 4 minutes left to tie and the score remained 8-8 for the final 3 plus minutes. It turned into a track meet/"Laundry fest" in overtime as both teams shortened their benches and were obviously starting to tire. Both goalies made some HUGE stops down the stretch to keep the game alive. Game endend late in the 2nd OT. A SLP pole heaved it down field, he was stuck in the corner and they were man down. The ball got by the last Andover defender and right to an SLP attacker who dunked it 1v1 with the keeper.
