2008 UMLL Coach of the Year - Cameron Pederson, North Dakota State
In his first year as head coach of North Dakota State, Cameron led the Bison to a 6-3 (5-2 in UMLL) record - a remarkable turnaround from the previous two season's 4-13 overall record.
Under Cameron's leadership, the Bison qualified for the UMLL Division 2 Semifinal round, playing national tournament bound and UMLL champion St. Johns to a 10-6 game.
Cameron has completely overhauled the program adding strategy, dicipline, and skills to a committed group of players. The UMLL is proud to award Cameron this award and looks for great things from the Bison in the coming years.
Congratulations!

As great of a job as Cam has done, and he has, I think Rob Graff has been overlooked for this award. For the great work that Rob has done this year, and over the past few years to get UMD to the program that they are today, I would just like to congratulate Rob on his efforts and wish the boys luck at Nationals, I hope to see belt buckles on the guys at summer league.

Rob has received this award (in 2004 or 2005, I think) which, interestingly enough, was controversial given the improvements Steven's Point had made in that season.
I think the coaches who have longer tenures tend to receive les recognition because their teams don't always show the dramatic improvements that a good coach can in his first year with a new team.
I'm certain Rob (or Mark or Moose) would happily trade a successful run at nationals for any personal recognition.

Congrats Cam!
The strength of individual teams strongly relies on the strength of the league. You have made your team stronger and the league stronger. Keep it up!
