Voting was rigged for Assistant Coach of the Year. The machines didn’t count the hanging chads correctly and the names were off centered so people didn’t know who they were voting for. I demand millions of dollars be spent to figure this out.

Hey I have an idea...we'll talk to your favorite place in the universe about it and see if they care...

list

Postby Ken Lovic on Tue Apr 29, 2008 6:44 am

great to see the list....
my only question... is it me, or it that just too many people? Is it like not keeping score in youth sports and make everyone happy mentality of today?

How are 1st (number one, the top dogs, best of the best) teams to have 5 attack? 3 (three!!) goalies, 2 LSM, 6 middies, 4 poles.....

Seems to be overkill to me....

103 total players made all-state/league. That's a lot.

Here is the breakdown by school:

Harrison High School 10
Alpharetta 8
St. Pius 7
Pope High School 7
McIntosh High School 7
Lovett School 6
Roswell High School 5
Lassiter High School 5
HIES 5
Woodward Academy 4
Westminster School 4
Walton High School 4
Milton High School 4
Decatur High School 4
Wesleyan School 3
Pace Academy 3
Northview High School 3
Starrs Mill High School 2
Etowah 2
Lakeside Evans High School 2
Kell High School 1
Darlington School 1
South Forsyth High School 1
Chattahoochee High School 1
North Forsyth High School 1
Blessed Trinity 1
McEachern High School 1
Whitewater High School 1

Harrison with 10. Holy crap. 2 attack, 2 defense, 1 goalie, 1 LSM and 4 middies. That means there's a 2nd line middie on there with all-state. Geez.

I dunno about you Ken, but after the award ceremony I fully expect

I agree with you, Ken. Almost a quarter of the GA teams have goalies who are all-state in some respect. That is a ton. Not to take anything away from the honorable mention type players, but it seems to me that it takes something away from the "all-state" title to have that many kids.
