I pulled this off the WCLL website
2005 Playoffs and WCLL Final Four
Tie Breaker same as last year, but a forfeit removes all head to head.
Quarter-finals will be on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at 1:00pm at the home field of the Division Winners unless otherwise directed by the League or agreed to by both teams. The WCLL Championships will be on April 30 and May 1, 2005 at Cal.
The Division A Playoffs and Championshiop will be played as follows:
Division A: Quarterfinal Playoffs
Game 1- North #1 vs. Central #2
Game 2- Central #1 vs. North #2
Game 3- LA area #1 vs. South #2
Game 4- South #1 vs. LA area #2
Division A: Final 4s (odd year i.e. 2005)
Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 4
Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3
Division A: Final 4s (odd year i.e. 2005)
Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 4
Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3
b. In the B Division the 1st Place team and 2nd Place team will play each other in the Championship game. B Division teams have to play every team in the B Division to be eligible for the championships.
3. USLIA National Championship (A and B Divisions) at Blaine, MN, May 10-14, 2005

At the WCLL meeting this fall there was some talk of switching the brackets every year but since this was the initial year of re-alignment we decided to take one year at a time.

Nice going, Chuck. There's some excellent bulletin board material for some of the other WCLL teams. Nothing like painting a big target on your back.

CATLAX MAN, Whats your deal? Are you out to get me? I have to rep my team, after all we don't plan on losing!

I'm not out to get you. Looks like you're doing a pretty good job of it on your own. It's not me making the boasts, you are. I don't expect that you would be planning on losing, but it's a whole other thing making that claim on a public forum where your opponents can read your words.

What do you expect him to do? Kiss UCSB's butt and say they are God's gift to lacrosse. Playoffs are made for upsets. Rep your team and post as you wish Chuck.
CHICOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are rooting for ya. Bissell with a hat trick.

Most players would keep their opinions to themselves and let their play on the field do their talking. I've always thought that it was more judicious not to give your potential opponents something to get fired up about, but that's just one opinion. You don't see Sonoma players or UCSB players on this board talking trash or making boasts, do you?

More of a question than anything else-
HYPOTHETICALLY- if ASU beats Arizona in their match up... That leaves ASU, UCSD, and Arizona at 2-1 in their conference. I know someone said that tie-breakers would be determined as usual, but what does that mean?
Does it go by record against each other? If so, in that case, Arizona beat UCSD, who beat ASU, who beat Arizona.
I know that this is not likely... but it's always possible for an upset, especially since ASU is a decent team and Arizona has been a little bit quiet for the second half of the season.
Not here to trumpet for ASU, just curious what would be the determinant for playoffs? A quarter?

Here is the tie-breaker schedule for the WCLL:
1. Record in head to head games between, among, tied teams.
2. Differential in scores in games between, among, tied teams.
3. Differential in scores in games with teams within their division (ie.
Division A North, Division A South, etc.)
4. Differential in scores in games with common opponents.
5. Coin Flip.
These will be modified at the Board of Directors meeting prior to playoffs to reflect the re-alignment within the league.

Agreed. Sonoma has alwayed played with class and much the same with Santa Barbara as attributable to their coaching staffs. Especially Sonoma's, where for years they have been a dominant and respectful force of California lacrosse led behind class coaching.
However, I would hardly call Chuck walking through how he thinks the playoffs will pan out a boast or trash talking since he posted nothing else other than picking the winner. Just because he doesn't pick the favorite doesn't mean its trash talking.
