I know NU/URI is at Parsons.

I believe UNH/UCONN is at memorial.

Tough to predict these games. Seems that every team has had their ups and downs this season. After an OT game w/ BC, it looks like NU is putting it all together. URI and UConn have both played well enough at times to post upsets. All depends on who comes to play on Thursday.

As far as Division B goes, there's just no telling. While Framingham got the #1 seed, they also got blown out by BSC earlier this season. Central CT played URI to 3 goals so they also have the potential to play well. Should be an interesting post season all around.

Out of curiosity and on behalf of PCLL division 2, can anyone give an explanation as to how it was decided who did/didn't make the playoffs and the seeding.

From the PCLL bylaws:

4. The top six teams from Division A shall compete in the post-season tournament. The top four teams
from Division B shall compete in the post-season tournament.

5. Determination of the final standings:
a. Final divisional rankings based on win-loss records versus required conference opponents. Required division opponents will be voted on at the fall meeting (see Article III – Section 3).
b. If two teams have equivalent records based on section a, the following will be used as tie-breakers, in this order:
i. Best head-to-head win-loss records between tied team(s).
ii. Best overall goal differential in games outlined in section a. No more than an eight-goal differential shall be counted per game. If the goal differential is greater than eight, the differential shall be counted as eight for the purposes of this tiebreaker.
iii. Least number of goals allowed in games outlined in section a.
iv. Coin flip.
c. In the event one team had a game cancelled, that opponent shall not be counted for either team toward the tiebreakers.



So in the 4 way tie between USCGA, UMaine, New Haven, & BSC... both USCGA & New Haven beat 2 of the other tied teams head-to-head. UMaine & BSC each only beat 1 of the other tied teams. USCGA & New Haven move on to the playoffs.

Hopefully someone can explain why the EB decided that Framingham is going to represent the PCLL - II regardless of the tournament outcome re: article on the main page.

It seems odd that a team would be declared the representative even though the Conference Championships is being held. I can understand if the tournament can not be played ie UMLL - I but this is different is it not?

I assume they inquired with the 4 teams about which one could realistically financially support a trip to nationals, and I bet Framingham was the one whom displayed the most proof and interest in going. Coast Guard I am pretty sure isn't allowed to go due to school regulations. I don't think the PCLL 2 has ever had a team go nationals since it's inception because of teams backing out after the conf. tournament. This is a safe way to ensure we have representation because I feel it would be fairly damaging to not send at team for I believe a 3rd time. I am pretty sure, by the PCLL constitution, they don't need to hold the post season tournament, they just choose to, by default then, the regular season team would be champion if they reverted back to that rule. This is a sound decision in my opinion.

Any predictions on tonight's games? Will the higher seeds make it or will there be upsets?

Why would Framingham even play in the PCLL tourney? Why even play the regular season games? If only one team can afford to go to the national tourney, what is the point of having a Divsion B? or Division 2 sorry. Teams should be required to go if they win, and if they can't, they should be kicked out of the league. Then, you either have 2 divisions with well-organized teams, or you just have 1. No offense to anyone on the e board, but this doesn't look good at all, even WITH a representative. It was hardly earned. The team representing the PCLL lost 17-4 to a team that didn't even make the league playoffs?
