if there is, i would like to nominate Cameron Pederson the head coach of ndsu, he has gave this team a complete make over. he took a team that was 2 and 6 last year and in second to last place, to a team that is 6 and 2 in third place and has a chance for 2nd place. He made this team be able to complete with the best.

Panch Ojeda from Marquette won Coach of the Year last year.
Noah Paulseth from UW-Eau Claire won Coach of the Year in 2006.

Not sure who you are referring to Poppabear, but at least the last two years no NDSU coach has won this award. Maybe someone else (with a more extensive knowledge of past award winners) can resolve this?

Correction: Chris Comella did win it for the (formerly) B-Division last year. Sorry about that PoppaBear. I guess in my defense this looks like it was the first year there were two COTY awards given out in the UMLL.

Which begs the question, at least out of curiosity: Why were there two different COTY awards given out last year - was it the first time there were two, or has that happened before, and will there be two again this year?

My guess is one for Division 1 and one for Division 2. I'm sure someone on the UMLL exec board can chime in and give the answer if this is incorrect.
