BYU continues to roll in Oregon, they will handle Oregon St with ease, and Oregon will be a good game for a half, then the cougars will pull away. I think CSU takes out its aggression on CU, and the buffs will play the cougars in the RMLC semis.

CU vs CSU at mile high is by far one of the most, if not most exciting game in the whole MCLA. I have seen other rivalry games and they werent close to as exciting as this one usually is. IF anyone has ever been you know what I mean. Both of these teams could be 0-whatever and this game would still be great. This year seems to be the year that these two teams seem most like eachother...kind of both rebuilding/not having the best years. I think this will be a great game.

Agreed. I think the way this year has been going for both these teams the game is up for grabs. CU needs the win more than CSU from a National Tournament perspective.

A win for CU will put 3 RMLC teams in the Tourney, and a CSU win knocks out CU, IMHO.

Wow...I really doubt a win over CSU puts them in the tourney. In fact, I think they could win out (beating CSU, BYU and UU/CSU winner) and still not make the tourney.

If they won out they'd be 6-5, including wins over Texas and Arizona. At this point, I don't think there's any chance CU makes it.

Who behind them is making a push to be at nationals over them? I agree they have a weak resume, but who behind them is making a strong case to get there instead?

Utah is CU's only TERRIBLE loss, although the Oregon loss is looking worse and worse and the seasons progresses. A win over CSU at Invesco gives them enough of a resume, IMO, to be the last AL bid for the NC.

Utah has too many very bad losses to be considered. Lindenwood, Poly, Claremont......

I don't think a win against CSU would make them a contender in the Tourney, but I do think they are close to being one of the best of the 14-20 range teams, and a win over CSU, in my book, puts them at the top of that group and gives them the last AL bid. (Keep in mind POLY, who CU pasted, is in that same group)

UNM called us tonight during a pre-game practice and cancelled the game tomorrow night, claiming that they only had 9 guys that could roll up. Honestly, this is really just a disappointment that a team cannot get enough people to make a three hour road trip. This is a young team in the conference and a no-show is just unacceptable. I'm sure there's "valid" excuses, but long story short, a team commits to a schedule and they should stick to it.

How does a team drive almost 500 miles to play in Wyoming but can’t make a trip 150 miles to their closest competitor?

where is Coach Westfall with his "all the best" post regarding the up-and-coming UNM lacrosse team?

My understanding is that Westfall is no longer the Head Coach at UNM. When we played them in March he expressed to me that he basically had one foot out the door already...

FYI-The Regis @ CSM game has been moved to 2 p.m. as not to conflict with the Mile High Showdown. If CSM wins they are in the playoffs. If Regis wins then Metro is off to SLC.

SENT TO THE RMLC EXEC. BOARD - 2/26/08

To the RMLC:

I will resign as Head Coach of the University of New Mexico effective April 26th,2008. I know longer have the abilities nor the passion to coach at this level nor the desire. This is mainly due to my health and related issues from the Liberty accident in 2005. I will discuss this with Michael Mooney Assistant Coach of UNM and with US Lacrosse New Mexico Representative Tom Allison so a competent replacement can be put in place through the University.

All the best,

John Westfall
Head Lacrosse Coach-University of New Mexico
