If Kansas St., Iowa and Ole Miss end up with the same records, and they have a weird head-to-head matchup (Kansas St. beat Iowa, Iowa beat Ole Miss, Ole Miss beat Kansas. St)...how will this get decided? The goal differential vs. all of the other AA teams?

Well as of now

KSTATE 4-1

IOWA 4-1

Ole Miss 2-1

Next weekend we have Memphis and Arkansas

So who knows, but we are playing extremely well right now

And how would the seeds go?

Is the goal differential capped at 8 goals or some other set value (If you beat a team by 25 goals, it its only +8 for the goal differential)?

If it is set at 8 for those 5 Division I-AA games, Iowa is +8, Kansas State is +7 (they had one 12-goal loss and one 10-goal win) and Ole Miss is +11 (they had one 12-goal win) with 2 games remaining.

I could be totally wrong on this, but this is how I remember it working in the past.

Lets add some more confusion. Lets say Ole Miss wins out, Ole Miss and Iowa would advance with a higher goal differential than K-State.

Does Iowa get the #5 seed and Ole Miss the #6 seed since Iowa beat Ole Miss head-to-head, even though Ole Miss had a better goal differential once that came into play?

Should be an interesting end of a season coming up in the next couple weeks.

Yes, head-to-head is always the first measuring stick for determining such matters.

It is my understanding that Iowa is on probation and is not eligible for post season play. Someone from Iowa may want to double check with Mosher on this. It is to bad because they have put together a nice season.

correct me if i am mistaken but I was also under the impression that k state is also on probation. in addition to that Iowa has overcome great obstacles in which they had to pay a $2000 fine for mistakes made last year. In how many ways can we be penalized? its quite hard to overcome such a huge fine espcecially when we were already having financial issues. Isnt banning Iowa from the playoffs negating the conferences intention of increasing competition and incorporating a developmental division such as the AA. Adding this additional barrior for the team to be succesfull will only hurt Iowa's chances of overcomig the developmental stage and becoming a competitor like schools like Lindenwood and Illinois. i really hope that what AJ proposes is not the case.

in addition to that arent new teams in the GRLC such as OLE MISS, and Memphis restricted from post season play as well? very confused here.

HAHAH oh man....if that were true and Kstate and iowa were on probation....and ole miss and was out for being new, then looks like AA is sending......Nebraska.....oh God.



But since that is a very extreme possibility, It will probably be arkansas, and ole miss in the tourney if K state and Iowa are on probation.

Not certain about Iowa or K-State's probationary status.

As far as new teams go...

They are on Adminatrative Probationary Status, which means that if they mess up their first year they are more likely to be kicked out. It does not have any effect on voting on conference issues or on playoff eligibility. It is just a polite notice that you have been accepted, but we are watching you and you are on a shorter leash than teams that are established in the conference.

A team on Disciplinary Probation is NOT eligible for playoffs. There is a big difference between the two types of probation.

Ole Miss is elligible for playoffs....one of the reasons Ole Miss picked GRLC over SELC was the oppertunity to go to playoffs
