On the front page there is an article about aquinas being in the CCLA-2... they already talk about what division they will be in and who they will play. They aren't in just yet, seems a bit over confident to me. Any one else find this a bit odd?

Please forgive the author of this article. The author is from our College Relations department and although being helpful in announcing the team to the rest of the MCLA, I do not believe he knew the intricacies of the admissions process. I do know that a team must be voted in at the CCLA meeting.

After introducing the idea of our program at CCLA's last meeting, it is our hope that we would be welcomed in. I have always stated to everyone I spoke with that it was our hope to be voted into this great league. I have tried to educate as many people as I could to the system we must follow. I will look into having it fixed. I am sorry if this offends you.

I think the article was up front about the need to be voted in...

If the team is accepted into the CCLA at the Fall meeting, Aquinas will play in the northern region of Division 2 of the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association and will compete against teams from schools such as Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, Northern Michigan University and University of Michigan-Dearborn.

The school has made a commitment to the sport, hiring a coach a year ahead of time, similar to the path that Davenport followed, and DU developed a pretty good team in short order.

I think any growth of the sport is good news, especially as people decry programs that get folded.
