Schedule also updated to reflect the forfeits by L&C. A sad day for the PNCLL as the Pios cancel their remaining season.
There will be no weekly preview article, as Steve Kojima's preview of the DI playoff picture and the separate thread on the D2 playoff picture basically covers all the news that's fit to print. Good luck to everyone this week, Jason and my weekly preview article will resume next week.

Here is my take on some of big games this weekend.
Whitman over Western Oregon
While a lot of people might have Western Oregon winning this game, I believe Whitman is going to pull this one off. Already on a three game losing streak, Whitman is looking to make a statement going into the playoffs. Western Oregon overlooked Central Washington in the beginning of the year, and I believe they will do it again. Whitman wins by six in this probable semi-finals matchup
Western Washington over Southern Oregon
Western Washington has proved that they are a very dangerous team in the PNCLL. I just don’t know if Southern has the firepower on this one to score more than five. Both teams should take notes on this game as I predict another matchup at Western Washington in the coming weeks. Western Washington wins by 10 over Southern.
Whitman over Willamette
This Cinderella story has finally ended. No one this year expected Willamette to eliminate Pacific Lutheran from the playoffs this year, but surprisingly this team has become a contender with only a few games to go. With Whitman needing to win every game as well, I just don’t see Willamette winning this game. Whitman goes 4-3 after a nine point win over Willamette.
Central Washington over Southern Oregon
I can see Central Washington overlooking Southern going into this game, but I do believe that Central has the depth in their roster to take advantage of a very small Southern Oregon team. Central Washington wins by seven in this game.

i have to disagree with some of what you say westlax. while i agree on most of the outcomes of the games this weekend i don't really see scores going that way.
with whitman having to travel to oregon i don't see WOU losing at home, WOU has proved to be to strong this year and with playoffs coming i don't think any team is overlooking anybody. however after last weeks huge game against UPS i do see a possible let down in the first half keeping it close and then WOU pouring it on in the second half.
i agree western over southern, although i think SOU will score more than five, and who would have ever thought willamette would be where they are this late in the season. willamette has the oppurtunity to scout whitman on saturday and with the way WOU plays it could be a rough game for whitman. willamette could capitalize on this and make it a much closer game than we all think. in the end i think whitman will end up coming out on top. i will be interested to hear where willamett is emotionally and how jacked they will be for this game. it has been a long time since willamette played a meaningful game in april.
the X factor is the emothional level of this willamette team, i believe that will be the difference in the game.
hard travel weekend for sou, again close game but i think fatigue could play into the outcome

In my opinion, Whitman is the wild card in the playoffs this year. They've proven they can play with anyone - coming up on the wrong side of 3 one-goal games against top opponents.
I don't think any of the top teams want to see Whitman in the playoffs. It certainly wouldn't be a shock to me if they ended up running the table all the way to Texas.
This thing is still wide open, and truthfully all 6 teams in the D2 playoffs are capable of knocking one another off. The biggest playoff advantage is having a bye in the first round and not having to face 3 tough opponents on the playoff run. . .I'm sure WOU will not overlook Whitman knowing that a win in that game almost assures them a first-round bye.

This may revise some predictions from earlier in this thread:
WOU 26, Whitman 4
Crazy game, but the result left no doubt who the best team in the league is come playoff time.

I stand corrected. No team wants to play Western Oregon right now. 26-4? Pretty phenomenal display by the Wolves. . .

I can understand why people would not want that information to be available to the general public, as it does not represent the league very well. However, I do not think it makes sense to censor a third party who is offering a first hand interpretation and review of the game. One game or one incident does not paint a picture as to how the rest of the league looks. The fact is, there was a little bit of a brawl, but it was taken care of. It was by no means a good representation of what happened in that game as there was actually quite good sportsmanship displayed for most of the game. The end of course left something to be desired....anyway, many of us never got to read the information about the incident. I am a little disappointed. Who knows? Maybe he deleted it....but let's face it, these things happen. Its a physical and emotional game. We just need to make sure to always hold ourselves in check.

It was a great game for sportsmanship except for that small outburst, and it was edited by a moderator because I discussed the officiating which is not allowed on these boards. Makes sense, I was questioning the referees' judgment call, so I'm not upset about it.
