UCSB playing SSU on Saturday and ASU on Sunday. It could be a disastrous weekend for the young Gauchos. Don't expect too many tortilla's flying. They could beat SSU if they shut off Williams, but ASU should roll it up on Sunday.

There aren't that many big games this week, so my list of interesting games will be short. UCSB clearly has the toughest weekend. They play SSU and ASU on consecutive days. Both games are must wins to bring their winning image back after an embarrassing week in Florida. Arizona is in the same situation playing the Colorado schools. They need to have a win to have any chance at making Nationals. So here are my picks. No explanations this week other than what i said above.

Arizona vs CSU at Ft. Collins 4:00pm

Sonoma vs UCSB at Santa Barbara 1:00pm

Cal Poly vs Chapman at Chapman 1:00pm

Arizona vs Colorado at Colorado 1:00pm

San Diego State vs Texas at Texas 4:00pm

Arizona State vs UCSB at Santa Barbara 1:00pm

you really believe SB will win both those games Nick or just hoping? I am asking that in all seriousness cause I haven't seen any of the three play this year, but based on rankings, I think SB would be lucky to split.

Arizona will probably not even make the QF let alone Nationals.

SB has a chance against Sonoma.

Unless Miller cooks something up for ASU'a attack, it could get ugly.

San Diego State vs Baylor at Texas --- Should be a good start to SDSU's 3 game roadtrip in Texas.

Arizona vs CSU --- Arizona= OVERRATED!! The wildcats are too young and inexperienced where it matters most to match the firepower of CSU.

San Diego State vs Texas State --- Pretty easy one to pick. I'm keeping with my WCLL bias over the LSA. It'll be a convincing win for the Aztecs and they should be able to carry the momentum into Austin against the Longhorns on sat.

Sonoma
vs UC Santa Barbara --- SSU doubled up Chico, but the Gaucho defense is tough one to crack. I see the seawolves coming victorious in this one.

Cal Poly vs Chapman --- Chapman, will probably run up the score yet again to keep their poll ranking high.

Claremont vs San Diego --- SD might be too drained from their emotional win over nationally ranked LMU. I'll give it to Claremont in a close one.

USC vs Loyola Marymount --- LMU is going to come out with a fire after their recent loss to SD. USC wont be able to match their intensity, especially after being pummeled by a decent SDSU team. LMU walks away with an easy win.

Arizona vs Colorado

San Diego State vs University of Texas --- Probably SDSU's toughest test during their roadtrip. Longhorns might be tired from their game against division foes texas a&m the night before. I may regret this, but I'm going with my alma mater....GO HORNS!!!

UCLA vs Claremont --- UCLA's losing streak continues

Arizona State vs UC Santa Barbara --- ASU's run and gun offense will be an interesting contrast to UCSB's methodical, time consuming offense. Should be an interesting one to watch. I would pay to watch the Westfall Vs. Schaible matchup.

Ya, but which one?

Tyler and Ryan are #1 and 2 in the WCLL in Points Per Game this year

A lot of assists for those two?

My guess is Tyler has more assists and Ryan more goals... however they both have a decent balance of both. I would also venture to say that a lot their respective goals are assisted by the other... at their size they can find each other pretty well out on the field (Ryan is 6-7 now, Tyler 6-3 or 6-4)...

The only thing that can get scarier for the WCLL is if their younger brother Dylan decides to join them in Tempe next year.... he's the best high school goalie i've ever seen - no joke.

upon further research: http://www.mcla.us/statistics.cfm?confe ... seasonid=4

They are almost mirror images statistically

The Westfall's are nasty but lets not forget about the little guy Nelson.

You must not have seen that many. Not a statement about Westfall, but there has been many excellent goalies that came up through high school in your area.

I have seen Dylan play on several occassions. He is an excellent goalie and should have many opportunities available to him for collage choices. ASU is a strong squad, adding Dylan would only be a plus. But Catlaxman is correct, Highheat must be kept on a short leash, the kid from AZ going to Hopkins next year (Bassett) is the best around here.

High heat be looking at kids from da bay, which is cool. I am sure there are some great kids from AZ, but I am sure there are a lot of good goalies from da bay along with westfall that will be out there next year. The teams from No Cal just continue to get stronger and stronger and will for years to come as lacrosse gets bigger there.
