Stonehill 11
Santa Clara 13
Santa Clara held a large margin for the first three quarters, but Stonehill bounced back in the fourth, even fighting off three straight man-down situations, but fell short.
Thanks to Santa Clara for making the trip out east this year. Hope to see you again soon.

BYU looked dominant on all facets of the game today. I hope that SB can rebound and finish hard the rest of the way (I'm confident that they will)...

Great ballgame that was nip and tuck (1 or 2 goal difference) throughout the third and fourth quarters.
Thanks to UCSD for making the trip down to Texas.

Congratulations to Cal on a big out of conference victory against #21 ranked New Hampshire. Coach Dini and his staff are doing an excellent job rebuilding the Bears program. They may not have the offensive firepower they did during the Moon brothers and Principi era, but their defense has been solid every year (and Seshagiri has been excellent), and it looks like they are starting to find some more offensive weapons with Sampson and Pontes.
Best of luck on the rest of the 2005 season.

FYI: Poly's game against Utah has been moved to the Eccles Field House due to persistent snow and sleet, its an 11 pm start (Mountain time). The weather seems to be following us...

From WCLL.com:
On a cold New England night in front of over 200 loud UNH fans the Cal Bears faced off against the # 21 UNH Wildcats. The Bears jump out quickly, scoring 2 goals in the first quarter. The Wildcats answered back tying the game at 2's. The Bears would take the lead at 3-2 and the Wildcats would tie at 3-3 then with 10 seconds left in the half the Bears scored making it 4-3 going to the half. The Wildcats would come out in the 3rd with renewed vigor scoring the next 3 goals putting the Bears down 4-6. The Bears would not give up though. The Bears would chip away at the Wildcats over the next 2 quarts. The tying goal at 6's was scored by So. Ramsey Nabahani (2G) when the Bears would score on a broken clear and an open net. As the clock ticked away it looked as if this game was going to be another typical Cal game with the Bears being on the wrong end of a one goal game. But tonight in the balmy 30 degree weather Sr. Goalie Ashwin Shesagiri (16 S) stepped up huge making 4 one on one saves in the second half of game. With less than 2 minutes left in the game the Bears would score the Game winner when Fr. Eric Abbott (1G) would come from X around the cage and would score with a minute ten left. The Bears would hold strong in the last seconds and would win the game 7-6. Note: The Game Ball was presented to Junior Captain, Defenseman David Yeaton-Massey, who was out sick during the game and did not make the trip to the game. Stats: Fr. C. Sampson (2G), Fr. G. Pontes (2G), So. R. Nabahani (2G), Fr. E. Abbott (1G), Fr. M. Gourhan (1A) Sr. A. Shesagiri (16 S, 6 GA) Big thanks to the UNH team and coaches for hosting a wonderful game, good luck with your season.
