SFU vs. Oregon on April 5 in BC will be the biggest PNCLL game in recent memory, if not ever. An SFU win puts them atop the conference once again.
Never have two PNCLL teams been so highly ranked when squaring off during the regular season (??).
What are the matchups to watch for? Who wins?

I bet my money (which isn't much) on seeing this match up all game long:
Manning vs. Blackmore
funny how Manning has gone from one of SFU's best Offensive players to one of their go-to Defenders

another match up to keep an eye on would be D- andrew vincent(UO) vs A- ben towner(SFU). towner just got player of the week and vincent is arguably the best defender in the PNCLL. i am going to take the ducks by 5

though I think this will be a great game... Montana and WWU faced off last year with a higher cumulative ranking (just for those who think this is the "greatest PNCLL game ever"... and I hear the Div 1 v. Div 2 argument, just a numbers sort of thing).
To me, the match ups are less important than goalie play... both teams have solid attack/defense, but both also have X-factor goal tenders who (if they play like they can) will be the difference in this game.
I'll say it again... SOMEBODY TAPE THIS GAME SO WE ALL CAN ENJOY IT!

This game reminds me of the 2004 and 2005 regular season games. SFU was ranked #12 going into the game against UO in 2004 and UO pulled out a 9-8 victory during the regular season and won convincingly with a 10 goal margin in the championship game.
In 2005, UO had at least a top 15 ranking (I think they were top 10, please correct me if I'm wrong) and SFU defeated UO 7-5.
Both teams are young and talented will be strong forces for the next four years.

that is correct, it was also the last time that the ducks lost at home, or a pncll game for that matter. this is defenitely shaping up to be a great game!

That regular season game in 04 was a great game. The Clan didn't think much of the Ducks and were shocked by the lose. That was my first taste of SFU and college lacrosse. (I had a hat trick to help set up the victory, yea man)

Well, with Sonoma's victory over #2 CSU, depending on how SFU does against Sonoma and Oregon against Colorado, this game could potentially see a game between two Top 7 teams. (maybe even top 5)
I would think SFU and Oregon are cheering for each other in their OOC games.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves

How do you figure that? CSU is going to drop below SFU? I don't think so. SFU has only played 1 game against Top 10 teams and lost it. How do they get up that far?

I think he's referring to the SFU game vs. Sonoma next weekend. . .I think LaxFan87 was just suggesting if SFU can win that game, (and that's a big if) then there's a possibility when SFU meets Oregon both teams could be in the top 7.
I don't think he expects SFU to pass CSU unless they beat the Sonoma team that beat CSU.

That '04 SFU/OU regular season game was a good one. After getting embarassed by SFU in '01, '02, and losing the '03 champ. game by 1, it felt good to get that monkey off of our backs.
It's good to see that they're "back" to playing elite level ball. The more quality teams in the league, the better.

wow, the old man is back on the message boards. Good to see you Dr. Collosus!!! I'm going to have to agree with Julian that the best game was our first victory up in B.C in the '05 season. I also separated my shoulder during the game, but it just happened to be on a play where I scored a goal
Oh the good ol' days

was that the play you (or someone else if I'm thinking of a different play) scored and separated your shoulder off the face off? The same play that was posted on the Oregon lax website's highlights???
..... made me want to be a duck......

That's more than you EVER had Brauck...But I would have to agree that that game up in BC was one of the best PNCLL games I have been apart of. But it had to mean so much more for those older guys that had been pummeled for so many years.
