Santa Clara 13
Santa Clara held a large margin for the first three quarters, but Stonehill bounced back in the fourth, even fighting off three straight man-down situations, but fell short.
Thanks to Santa Clara for making the trip out east this year. Hope to see you again soon.

I saw that the C.G. academy has a team are they good this year? Traditionally? I've never heard any feed back on them, any one have some?

They have never been real strong and have been short on numbers. I think they might be the strongest B team this year, though.

USCG at one time was the best team in the PCLL. This was when URI was also dominant, before UNH and BC joined, and I believe a year before we entered the USLIA and acquired an automatic bid for nationals.
Since then, they have taken some hits, but remain a decent team. They could easily be quality Div. A program, but they felt they could be very successful on the B side. The other thing about CG, is it is difficult for them to travel and play. They have very strict rules regarding being on base and finished with games by certain times in the evening. But they are always in shape, and they are a class act as far as players are concerned. I would like to see them develop into one of the nation's top Div. B programs, which I think will be a given once we have enough teams for a Div. B automatic qualifying bid.

I think they went undefeated in 1998, when we were in the USLIA. I remeber they smoked us in the first round of the playoffs like 15-5. It was my last collegiate game as a player. They had a lot of fans, and a car with a loudspeaker on the sidelines that eventually got shut off. Pretty funny stuff looking back. Anyway, I wish that they could get a little more leeway with their school so that they could play at the A level. You are right Dan M, always a class act, and a team that is in unbelievable shape.

I believe it was 1999, at the earliest, that we joined the MDIA. I started college in 1998 and we didn't join the MDIA till after I had gone to my first PCLL meeting, which was spring of 1999.

This spans different weeks, but I'll put it all here:
Central Connecticut State University is forfeiting their win versus Southern Virginia, their loss versus Liberty, and their game yet to be played versus Stonehill. None of these games were PCLL games so it will not affect the standings.
