GRLC Money

Is it possible to get a copy of the GRLC's budget? I mean, where does all the moeny we send, as a team, to the GRLC go? Is it possible to view this online? And how are decisions voted on or made? How do you get to be in office?

Yes, ask Corbin or Brian for a copy of the budget. It is reviewed every Fall Meeting with every team in the conference. Items are voted on by all the teams in the conference at that time.

No, it is not possible to view it online. It is not posted on the internet and does not need to be. All you have to do is ask for it.

Decisions for the budget are voted on and made primarily by the individual teams during the Fall Meeting. Once a budget is set for our website, insurance, the GRLC Tournament, etc the E-Board has minimal discretion in how to apply it. They explain what they need in the Fall Meeting and will answer any questions. The teams then all agree together on that budget.

You get to be in office by attending the fall meeting, getting nominated (or nominating yourself), and then receiving more votes than anyone else that is running for office. All the teams vote for the officers for a two-year term. You can lose your voting priviledge if your team is placed on probation. You are also welcome to put forth a motion during "New Business" to have someone removed from office or bring up essentially any other issue you would like.

What sorts of powers does the EB have once put in place? What is it that they take care of?

I have just emailed Troy Hood, who is the GRLC treasurer according to the GRLC website, and turns out, Troy Hood is not the GRLC Treasurer as according to our website. Corbin Wilhelmi (sp?) is.

Can we get a more up to date website?

Dan,
I have been at the last three meetings as well and each one included a treasurers report and budget discussion. The last one Corben announced that he did not print budgets but if anyone wanted a copy they could send him an email and he would reply with the budget. I'm not sure why you would post that the GRLC budget has not been discussed in three years when it has been discussed at every fall meeting I have attended. You may want to stay awake if you do not remember the discusions concerning money.

Dustin,
Beckner was your teams rep at the fall meeting. He is responsible for getting information to your team from the fall meeting. Let me know if I can help with anything. I am the division 1 director for the GRLC. No one from your team has ever asked me for any of the information you are bringing up on the boards lately. Send me an email and I will try to get you an answer for each of your questions.

How many meetings are there (for the GRLC) in the course of the year? Who all is required (or strongly suggested I guess) to go, and who else (if anyone ) is able to observe? I was told, and don't hold me to this, I wasnt there, that the Budget was not handed out at the fall meeting. Is everyone given a copy of the budget at the fall meeting?

Has anyone heard about the all conference awards? I was under the impresison that this would be one of the things the conference paid for and presented at the end of the year, but it never happened. Just curious.

Sorry AJ i should have been a little more clear, i was not saying that the budget was not discuses, i was saying that it was not passed out and reviewed. I know we had discussions about the major budget topics, looking back at my comment i realize that now i should have clarified, sorry.

I have asked Corbin for a copy of the fall budget. His response was to request it through my coach, which I did, but that's inconsistant. I mean I would like to be able to think that as a player I can request a copy of the budget (for the GRLC or MCLA really) and, maybe with a bit of verification, receive it. The budget was not reviewed at the fall meeting, correct me if I'm wrong, but it is seeming to be a bit harder to get a hold of than was first discussed.

Also, I know I have got my work cut out for me now, but would it be possible to get objective answers from some admins in the conf and league. I've gotten a lot of, "I don't like what you've posted on the boards, so go ask someone else" (of course not EVERY time, but pretty consistantly so). I also had someone mention in an earlier board something about my own ignorance. Aren't these boards the best way to discuss things? It seems to me that the point has been made that if you aren't qualified enough to ask a question, then don't.

I encourage anyone to agree or disagree with me, however strongly they do.

i would first ask you team rep who was at the conference meeting. If that doesnt work, try asking Mr. Gilner. I'm sure he would do what he could to help you get your hand on whatever documents you are looking for.

Unfortunately, you have seemed to dig yourself quite a hole on this board. I'm sure with some patience and a few Ps and Qs, you will eventually find all the documents you seek.

The GRLC has one meeting in the fall. Each team is required to send a representative to speak for that team. The head coach is the recommended representative.

As I have already posted in this thread Corbin told each team's head coach or representative to email him if they wanted a copy. He was attempting to save the GRLC money by not printing tons of copies that most would throw away. Again I will say that Beckner was your rep at this meeting. If you guys wanted a copy he should have asked for it. At this time since Beckner is no longer affiliated with your team you should have Coach Turner request the information. None of the EB volunteered to jump every time a student athlete decides he wants a "hypothetical question" answered.

All-GRLC awards are not paid for by the conference and are not listed under duties in the by-laws. The coaches do vote for a team and the team was posted at the end of the year as required by the bylaws. They were posted at the GRLC championship along with being posted on collegelax.us

GRLC website

Postby DarylF on Tue Mar 04, 2008 12:06 pm

Hi fellas:

Concerning the GRLC website. I am the website administrator and am always ready, willing and able to update ANY incorrect information you find on the website. I noticed reading one of the threads that Corbin Wihelmi is the Treasurer, I will update the website accordingly. I had asked for updates earlier in the season and I guess this one was missed.

I do not have Corbin's email address or other contact information for him. Would someone have that for me?

I am very available to make any changes to the website but like anyone...unless the information is sent I can't make the changes.

I also noticed a comment about old photos being on the header. Again...If you have photos I can use I can certainly redo the header and in fact the entire site, if that is desired.

Thanks to all,

Daryl Fernquist

I find no humor in that picture what so ever. I will assume you mean it to be a joke, however TO ME it comes off as an arrogant, condescending effort on your part to put DRich down.

Now the website has been a complaint for a while now, how bout we get someone to send to pictures that are HELPFUL and USEFUL to solving the problem rather than stirring up more dust in this thread.
