Apparently after the Clemson game, USC players had better things to do then represent there school and play us in Atlanta. I guess it isnt possible to put a team in the B league, but I think if any team is just willing to forfeit and not bother playing lacrosse then they dont deserve to be in the A league.

Not the way I wanted to win my last home game ever, and I feel bad for my fellow senior teammates.

GtLaxcaptain21- I certainly understand your frustration, but the B division is not the scrap heap of the SELC! It's not the place where you send programs for rehab. However, something does need to be done about programs without commitment.

Why?

Postby jsrowe on Sun Apr 10, 2005 1:27 pm

I agree with everyone that once you commit to a game you should follow that commitment through, but I also understand that this is still CLUB lacrosse and sometimes things fall through. I think Vandy is getting unfair criticism, especially when others have made numerous references to other games that were canceled and no one seems to care about those.

USC showed up to Clemson without even a whole team, then don't even show up to Tech, and Alabama just didn't even bother to show up to one of their games (this all being from what I've read posted on this thread) and no one has criticized either of these teams like everyone trashed on Vandy. While Vandy should be obligated to their commitments, I think the whole situation is/was blown out of proportion.

So why is that everyone rags on Vandy, but not the other teams that do the same thing they did? Is it because there's a lot of history?

It used to be for developing teams and teams just entering the conference, so it'll probably take another year or two to get everyone on the same page.

Is this one of the Rowe's out of ATL? Anyway, yes, Vanderbilt was suspended last season for a few reasons, especially for organizational problems, so they're probably going to be subject to more criticism than teams who have a better track record of showing up and keeping their commitments.

Developing Teams? Okay. New Teams? Certainly. Smaller Schools in the SELC? I'll buy it.

But schools that can't make a commitment to the league? No Thank You!
