Do we outlaw white gloves? or was that just a strategic team glove choice from the veteran Montana team! UPS will go with white gloves as well next year, I'm pretty sure...

Maybe we should make them play with yellow balls like the girls. . .

Quote of the Year (thus far at least)--

Walla Walla, Washington--Montana LSM #9 during one of the many random dead-ball stick checks: "I bet over the course of the season, this will eat up at least 1.5 hours of my life...time that I'll never get back"

**No disrespect to the officials intended. Just thought this was hilarious.

Was he maybe in the penalty box when you overheard this, Pete? He was there for almost 1.5 hours of his life on Sunday alone.

These pictures are too funny! I've never tried thumbin' the ball before; is it that helpful? It seems like it would take to long to get off a pass or a shot if your thumbin' it. At least we know both teams will be doing it this weekend when Montana takes on SFU. I'll take SFU by 4. Go Grizz!

Thumbs Up

Postby Shawn Carman on Thu Mar 08, 2007 10:37 am

It is crazy that without the proof of these pictures most of the thumbing of the ball would go unnoticed.

I to find it comical that pictures from the games show up with thumbing of the ball or a pair of hiking boots instead of cleats. These pictures taken at the right moment can catch what everyone does not always see.

You got to love the camera.

Looking at the second picture I am not so sure the player is thumbing. You can clearly see the red part of the guys thumb is not touching the ball, which is deep in the pocket. The thumb looks like it is resting on the ball stop.

The first pic looks the same. The players thumb looks like it is resting on the ball stop. The ball is up off the ball stop, as the players swing his crosse away from the defender you can see the ball being pushed back in the pocket.

Thumbing

Postby CodyLax3 on Thu Mar 08, 2007 11:56 am

They may not being touching the ball at that point in time, but who rests their thumb on the ball stop normally?

Why thumb the ball when you can string yourself a little something like this...
