Games for 3/9 - 3/15: Predict, discuss, report scores here

Postby Laxdogg on Tue Mar 15, 2005 3:16 pm

#19 is a good player, but i wonder if he gets points because teams are focusing so much on #1 and #45. I watched all of them play this past weekend and i think they work well as a unit. Boise is an up and coming team. Getting with in 5 of an impressive UVSC team and beating 2 ranked teams from the northwest, thats showing improvement.

Any thoughts on this big game tonight??

As much as I'd like to see the Cougars win, I don't know that they have the defense to slow down CSU.

#19 has been one of our top scorers for a couple of years now and is currently leading the RMLC B in points by a decent margin. It definetely helps having 3 attack that the defense has to worry about.

I'd like to think it will be 13 to 7, but I am not counting out the Cougars. This should be a good chance to see all the BYU weapons in at once and also a good chance for the rest of the country to see one of the best rivalries in the country. Last time CSU played down there, they barely escaped with a win and I don't think this one will be very easy either. I think it will be a little closer, but the onus is on BYU's offense. They need to find a way to beat the CSU 'd' to keep this close until the fourth, when it becomes anyone's game. I'd look for the second and third quarters to be key as well. If BYU can keep CSU from running four or five goals in a row in the middle quarters, this one will be interesting.

Utah 16
UCLA 9

Utes came out a little slow, and UCLA was hungry, keeping it tied 5-5 at the half. The utes exploded from there, scoring 11 goals in the 2nd half. Ute Attackmen Tom Fernandez had 6 goals, Stefan Turkula had 4 goals and 2 assists, and Rich Qualey had 3 goals and 2 assists to top the scoring column for the utes.
