well if thats the case someone from the CCLA should talk to who ever is in charge of the MCLA.us to get them moved on the site.

They are in the North. SVSU is also the 3rd most northern (about 15 miles south of Ferris) team in the CCLA DII, so they are a more than natural fit for that division. John Carroll, if admited, would most likely be placed in the South, as they are located in Cleveland. Again, natural geographic allotments would apply.

Just in terms of this discussion, UMD is the closest Northern team to the South. Detriot to Pittsburgh is 4.5 hours (5 from Dearborn) on a busy day, Dearborn to Dayton is 3.5 hours, 3.45 to Upland and about 6 to Terra Haute. Detriot to Big Rapids is about 3.5 to 4 hours. Northern uses neutral sites for divisional games. I would have to check to see where those are held to calculate distance. No discussions have been had about this topic with the board. I'm just trying to put some of the intra-divisional travel in to perpsective and with regards to this conversation.

This was actually a concern for us initially if SVSU were to be admitted. We assumed we would be bumped to the South or SVSU being a first year team would have to play a year in the South. If we were to be forced into the South this year it would have effected our planned budget. Currently, it is 2.5 hours to 3 of our league teams (Calvin, Hope, GVSU) and a 1.5 hour drive to SVSU. Ferris is usually a little over 3 hours for us. This allows for same day travel without the need for hotels in most cases. If we were to have to travel 4-6 hours per league game it would make things a little more challenging as we would require more night stays. It can be done....it would just would have been a little more travel for us in the end. Obviously things will change in the years to come with potential addition of John Carrol, Davenport, Aquinas, and Sienna Heights.
